IMPROVEMENT IN MEDlClNE-SPOONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 201,369, dated March 19, 1878 application filed February 16, 1878.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD K. WALKER, of Exeter, in the county of Rockingham and State of New Hampshire, have invented a new thereof.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction of a medicine-spoon for dropping medicine, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
The annexed drawing, to which reference is made, fully illustrates my invention.
A represents the bowl of the spoon, and B is the handle thereof, made, in any suitable manner, 1n one piece.
The handle B is formed with a longitudinal groove, a, on the upper side, and on each side thereof is made a series of notches, b b, which are numbered 5, 10, 15, &c., the figures being marked in the groove on the handle.
The bowl A is, at its end, on the under or outer side, provided with a grooved lip, G, into which opens a tiny perforation, :12, from the inside of the bowl.
A small rubber ring, d, is placed around the handle B, said ring to be placed in the notches b thereon corresponding with the number of drops to be given, so' that there can be no danger of mistaking the number of drops to be given.
The spoon is intended to hold a fluid dram, and any number of drops can easily be poured out through the lip G.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A spoon, A B, provided at its end with the perforation a: and grooved lip O, and having a series of numbered notches, b, on its handle, with a rubber ring, 11, placed around the same, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
EDWARD K. WALKER.
