Abstract

The present invention provides a gym wrap device that is comprised of multiple layers of fabric that minimize sweat absorption by wicking away moisture from skin and hair and transferring heat away from the head while also allowing in cooler air. The first layer is a breathable wicking mesh fabric that offers a gripping surface and transfers moisture from the hair to the second layer of the gym wrap. The second fabric layer is designed to act as a temporary “holding” layer as the moisture is eventually wicked away and evaporated through the third layer of fabric that is comprised of a Quick Wicking Poly Pique Knit yarn that offers outstanding moisture management and comfort. This process keeps hair flat thereby making it easier to style after a workout which extends the time of maintaining a hairstyle or hairdo (“Do”).

Description

What is claimed is:
1. A gym wrap device, comprising:
a first fabric layer having a front edge, a rear edge and two side edges, said first fabric layer consisting of a breathable material;
a second fabric layer having a front edge, rear edge, and two side edges, said second layer consisting of an absorbent material;
said second layer overlapping along a portion of the front edge of said first layer, said front edge of second layer secured to a said front edge of the first layer wherein said absorbent second layer being free of chemical desiccants;
a third fabric layer having a front edge, rear edge, and two side edges, said third layer comprising a wicking material wherein said third layer is in contact with the second fabric layer and partially in contact with the first layer;
means for attaching the three layers together at their respective front edges;
means for attaching the first and third layers together at their respective rear edges; and
means for fastening the gym wrap at the front edges.
2. The gym wrap ofclaim 1 wherein the breathable first layer is a mesh wicking fabric which allows moisture to pass through to the absorbent second layer of the wrap.
3. The gym wrap ofclaim 1 wherein the absorbent second layer holds the moisture temporarily without the use of chemicals.
4. The gym wrap ofclaim 1 wherein the wicking third layer comprises of a Quick Wicking Poly Pique Knit yarn.
5. The gym wrap ofclaim 4 wherein the first and third layers are substantially equal in size and shape.
6. The gym wrap ofclaim 5 wherein the wrap is substantially triangular in shape, wherein the front edge is the longest side of the triangle, and the side edges are curved to form a tab section near the front edge.
7. The gym wrap ofclaim 6 wherein the second layer is substantially rectangular and is enclosed by the first layer and the third layer, the side edges of the first layer and the third layer extend beyond the side edges of the second layer forming elongated end tabs to be used as fastening means for the wrap.
8. The gym wrap ofclaim 7 wherein at least one edge of the second layer is sewed to the third layer only.
9. A gym wrap device, comprising:
a first fabric layer, said first layer having a front edge, a rear edge and two side edges, said first layer being a breathable fabric;
a second fabric layer having a front edge, rear edge and side edges, said second layer overlapping all of said first layer and is secured to said front edge and rear edge of the first layer;
said absorbent layer being absorbent and free of chemical desiccants;
a third fabric layer having a front edge, rear edge and side edges, said third layer overlapping the second layer of fabric;
means for attaching the three layers together at their respective front and rear edges; and
means for fastening the opposite ends of the gym wrap.
10. The gym wrap ofclaim 9 wherein the first layer is a wicking mesh fabric and has a felt-like texture which allows for moisture to pass through to the second absorbent layer of the wrap.
11. The gym wrap ofclaim 10 wherein the second absorbent layer holds the moisture temporarily before passing on to the third layer.
12. The gym wrap ofclaim 11 wherein the third wicking layer is comprised of a Quick Wicking Poly Pique Knit yarn that offers outstanding moisture management and comfort.
13. The gym wrap ofclaim 12 wherein the first, second and third layers are equal in size and shape.
14. The gym wrap ofclaim 13 wherein the wrap is an elongated oval shape.
15. The gym wrap ofclaim 12 wherein the side edges of the first and third layers extend over the side edges of the second layer thereby forming elongated ends for securing the wrap.
16. The gym wrap ofclaim 13 wherein the side edges of the third layer extend over the side edges of the first and second layers thereby forming elongated ends for securing the wrap.
17. A multi-layered fabric gym wrap comprising: a breathable and wicking first layer, an absorbent second layer and a wicking third layer;
said first layer adapted for gripping the hair of the user;
said absorbent layer being free of chemical desiccants;
said third layer having outstanding moisture management and comfort;
means for attaching the three layers to form the wrap; and
means for securing the wrap.
18. A method of making a gym wrap device, comprising the steps of:
utilizing a breathable mesh fabric layer, said breathable layer having a front edge and a rear edge;
utilizing an absorbent fabric layer having a front edge and a rear edge;
overlapping the absorbent layer over a portion of the breathable layer;
utilizing a wicking fabric layer having a front edge and a rear edge;
attaching the absorbent, breathable and wicking layers at their respective front edges; and
attaching the breathable and wicking layers at their respective rear edges.
19. The method of making a gym wrap device ofclaim 18, wherein the absorbent layer overlaps the entire portion of the breathable layer.
20. A multi-layered gym wrap apparatus, comprising:
a second layer sandwiched between a first layer and a third layer wherein said second layer overlaps only a portion of the first and third layers,
the first, second and third layers attached to each other at their respective rear edges, wherein said first layer is formed of fabric to form a first fabric layer including a mesh fabric arrangement in direct contact with the second and third layers of the multi-layered gym wrap apparatus and a user when the multi-layered gym wrap apparatus is in a closed configuration, wherein said closed configuration of the multi-layered gym wrap apparatus is coiled in a substantially circular shape,
one or more ends of said first, second and third layers form a triple layer and provide a means for fastening the multi-layered gym wrap apparatus wherein said one or more ends of the first, second and third layers of the multi-layered gym wrap apparatus overlapping each other from a left end and a right end when said multi-layered gym wrap apparatus is viewed from the front in an end to end manner and viewed in an uncoiled configuration, and
