BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION(a) Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to organizers and more particularly, to a hanging organizer that can be conveniently hung on a tubular door lock or a rod member in a cabinet or the like for holding different things.
(b) Description of the Prior Art
Many organizers are commercially available. These commercial organizers include floor type organizers and hanging organizers. A floor type organizer has a big size with multiple boxes for storing relatively greater personal items. A hanging organizer has a relatively smaller size, and is designed for hanging on a wall or support means to hold envelops, bills, slippers, and/or other small personal items. Conventional hanging organizers commonly have one or a number of hanging holes or hooks for hanging. These hanging organizers have application limitations. They cannot be freely hung on any place in a house.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a hanging organizer, which can be hung on a tubular door lock for holding different items. It is another object of the present invention to provide a hanging organizer, which can be hung on a rod member that has its two ends fixed to support means. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a hanging organizer, which can hold small ferrous or steel items by means of magnetic attraction.
To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, a hanging organizer comprises a base panel, which has a hanging hole cut through the front and back sides thereof and disposed near the top and a crevice transversely extending from the hanging hole to one lateral side, a transparent pocket formed on the front side of the base panel for holding a card, a plurality of storage compartments provided at the front side of the base panel for holding different personal items, a strap, which is suspended from the base and having a tape of loop materials and a tape of hook materials respectively fixedly provided at the two distal ends thereof for enabling the two distal ends of the strap be joined together to form a loop, and an envelop holder provided at the back side of the base panel.
Further, the storage compartments are arranged on the front side of the base panel at different elevations, each having a wave-like or stepped top open side.
Further, a magnet is fixedly mounted on the base panel near the top side above the hanging hole for attracting small ferrous or steel items.
The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTSThe following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
Referring toFIGS. 1,4A and4B, a hanging organizer in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising abase panel1 made of a hard plate member and wrapped with a fabric covering that carrying a color design to cause a sense of beauty. Thebase panel1 has a front side, and a back side opposite to the front side. Ahanging hole11 is formed in thebase panel1 near one end, namely, the top end of thebase panel1. The hanginghole11 can be a circular hole. Alternatively, the hanginghole11 can be made having any of a variety of shapes. Further, acrevice12 extends from the hanginghole11 to one lateral side of thebase panel1. Amagnet17 is fixedly mounted on thebase panel1 above the hanginghole11 for attracting ferrous or steel clips and other small ferrous or steel items. Themagnet17 is wrapped within the fabric covering of thebase panel1. Onetransparent pocket13 and a plurality ofstorage compartments14 are provided at the front side of thebase panel1. Thetransparent pocket13 has anopening131 disposed at one lateral side (either the left side or the right side). Thestorage compartments14 are provided arranged at different elevations, each having the respective opening disposed at the top side. Astrap15 is affixed with its one end to the front side of thebase panel1 near the bottom. Thestrap15 has a tape ofloop materials151 and a tape ofhook materials152 respectively provided at its two distal ends, namely, the fixed end and the free end. By means of fastening the tape ofhook materials152 to the tape ofloop materials151, thestrap15 is arranged into a loop. Further, as shown inFIG. 4B, anenvelop holder16 is provided at the back side of thebase panel1.
FIGS. 2A and 2B show an application example of the hanging organizer in accordance with the present invention. As illustrated inFIGS. 1,2A and2B, thebase panel1 is hung on atubular door lock2 by means of the hanginghole11, acard3 carrying a massage or design is inserted through theopening131 into thetransparent pocket13, personal items, such asmakeup5,cell phone6, writingapparatus7 and the like are put in the storage compartments14, and a hanging ornament (or keyring) is hung on thestrap15 that is arranged into a loop.
Further, theaforesaid envelop holder16 is a strap member affixed with its two distal ends to the back side of thebase panel1 for holding envelops, newspaper, etc. Theenvelop holder16 can be made of an elastic band. Referring toFIGS. 3A and 3B, by means of temporarily deforming thebase panel1 to expand thecrevice12, the hanginghole11 of thebase panel1 can be coupled to arod member9 that has its two distal ends fixedly connected to two opposite walls of a room, cabinet or any other object. Therefore, the hanging organizer can be hung on any of a variety of rod members conveniently.
FIGS. 5A and 5B show an alternate form of the hanging organizer in accordance with the present invention. This alternate form is substantially similar to the embodiment shown inFIG. 1 with the exception that the top open side of each storage compartments14 according to this alternate form has a wave-like (seeFIG. 5A) or stepped configuration (seeFIG. 5B).
FIGS. 6A and 6B show another alternate form of the hanging organizer in accordance with the present invention. This embodiment is substantially similar to the embodiment shown inFIG. 1 with the exception that the top open side of each storage compartments14 according to this alternate form slops in one direction. Further, thetransparent pocket13 according to this embodiment is arranged below the storage compartments14.
A prototype of hanging organizer has been constructed with the features ofFIGS. 1˜6. The hanging organizer functions smoothly to provide all of the features disclosed earlier.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
