BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (a) Technical Field of the Invention The present invention is related to a rolling wheel, and more particular to a ball roller that rolls directionless with improved agility.
(b) Description of the Prior Art
Referring toFIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings, the prior art of a rolling wheel is essentially made of a wheel (11) penetrating through an axle (12) to be pivoted to a truck (13) to roll around the fixed axle (12). Whereas the construction of the prior art rolls in a given direction, extra attention is required to make sure that the operation direction of a host object installed with the rolling wheel is the same with that of the roller. It appeals not appropriate for the host object, such as a skate or an in-line skate that always heads in one direction, to move in the direction as desired. Therefore, the skate or the in-line skate mounted with the rolling wheel of the prior art prevents easy turning and many other directionless motions due to that the construction of the rolling wheel presents much more resistance to the motions other than heading for the same direction thus to significantly affect the speed of the host object.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide an improved construction of a rolling wheel to provide more agility for the rolling wheel in taking turns, further reduce motive force loss, and increase the speed of a skate or similar host object mounted with the rolling wheel.
To achieve the purpose, the present invention is comprised of a ball roller placed in a case and covered up with a lid to be restricted in the case without accidental falling off, and multiple holding wheel chambers provided on top of the case with each chamber accommodating a holding wheel. Accordingly, the ball roller placed in the case maintains a given spacing with the case without contacting each other when plunged by multiple holding wheels.

Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
Referring toFIGS. 2 and 3 for a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the present invention relates to an improved structure of a rolling wheel (2) comprised of a ball roller (21), a case (22), and a case lid (23). The ball roller (21) placed in the case (22) and covered up with the lid (23) is restricted in the case (22) to prevent accidental falling off.
The ball roller (21) relates to a regular round ball made of hard and wear-resisting material, and to be made in solid or hollow status as required.
The case (22) in a diameter slightly greater than that of the ball roller (21) has provided on its top multiple holding wheel chambers (221), three of them in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, separating from one another at for an equal angle. Each chamber (221) accommodates a holding wheel (222) and the section of the chamber (221) may be made in round shape or regular polygonal shape. The size of the holding wheel is slightly smaller than that of the chamber (221) thus to achieve free movement therein. When the holding wheel (222) is in position, it protrudes for a proper range from the interior of the case (22), so that once the ball roller (21) is placed in the case (22), the ball roller (21) maintains a certain spacing from the case without contacting each other as the ball roller (21) is held against by three holding wheels (222). The lid (23) then covers up the opening end of the case (22) to restrict the ball roller (21) inside the case (22). An opening (231) in a diameter smaller than that of the ball roller (21) is disposed on the case (22), so that the ball roller (21) is partially exposed from the opening (231) without falling out of the case (22).
When assembled, the ball roller (21) in the case (22) is supported by the delta combination of those three holding wheels (222) to permit directionless rolling to promote the agility of a host object, e.g., a skate, mounted with the rolling wheel of the present invention in taking turns. Whereas there is the least contact points of the ball roller (21) and the moving direction of the ball roller (21) is the same with as of the rolling wheel without loss of motive force to further increase the speed of the skate.
The rolling wheel of the present invention may be adapted to the skate, in-line skate or wheelchair as illustrated inFIGS. 4, 5, and6. A worm gear (3) is used to mount one or multiple units of the present invention to where in front of the skate (4), the in-line skate (5) or below the wheelchair (6) for effectively improving their turning performance and sliding efficiency.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
