A structure'as recited in vclaim 3, wherein the inner end of the plunger andthe rear face of said wall are provided with co-operating. fracturing surfaces to crush said frangiblecartridge, said plunger being filled with a body of absorbent material to receive the contents of said cartridge, said absorbent material surrounding the air passage-way through said plunger.

A device of the character described, comprising a tubular shell having a 'reduced forward end shaped and adapted to enter the human nostril, a plunger mounted to slide freely into the rear end of the shell, said plunger havingr an air passage-way formed therethrough, a wall spanning the shell at aV point intermediate its 'length and at a point spaced such a material distance from the front end of the shell as to leave a mixing chamber of considerable size between said f wall and the front end'of the shell, the forward end of the plunger and the rear face L: of said wall constituting crushing surfaces,
and a frangible medicament containing cartridgeof a sizeto lit within the shell between said plunger and wall.
 7. A structure as recited in claim 6, wherein said plunger is filled with a body of absorbent material ada-pted to receive the'contents of said cartridge, said absorbent material surrounding the air passageway through said plunger.
 8. A device of the character described comprising a tubular shell having a wall spanning the same at a point intermediate the length of the shell, said wall being' perforated and the forward end of the shell being reduced to adapt it to enter the human nostril,
 a plunger mounted to move into the rear end i of the shell, said plunger having an air passageway formed therethrough, a frangible cartridge of a size to fit within the shell between said plunger and wall, and a pad of Yabsorbent material between the cartridge and thevair passageway of the plunger and covering the latter, said pad of absorbent material being renewable with a cartridge.
