Our invention consists of a netting which is of a flexible nature and will not crack, has clear meshes, is exceedingly durable, and is an imitation of wire-netting, with all its advantages and without its defects, being more easily produced and at a less expense.
In the manufacture of our netting we proceed as follows: We employ for the warp and lling cotton thread, single or doubled and twisted, and stretch and brush or smooth the same, and then proceed to weave. During the operation of Weaving, the filling-threads, as above prepared, are run through size, so as to cause them when dry to adhere to the warpout the liability to rust, costs less, and is more durable. It is Iiexible throughout,;nd will not lose shape when bent or handled. It will not crack. The meshes are clear and `niform,
so as not to obstruct air and light, and it is easily manufactured.
Having thus described our invention, what We claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
'lhe improvement in the manufacture of netting in imitation of Wire-netting, the same consisting in stretching and brushing cotton- Warp and filling-threads, running the latter threads through size as they are woven in, and stretching and painting the woven fabric, all as set forth, and for the purpose described.
