This invention comprehends the provision of a bath room fixture designed to conveniently dispense tooth paste, shaving cream or the like in a quick and sanitary man- 6 ner, the invention residing in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as claimed. I

Theinner container 12 is probably constructed of glass so it can be conveniently cleaned from time to time, while the outer container orwall 13 is non-transparent and conceals from view the inner container and its con-4 tents.l

Arranged to operate within thehollow bracket 10 is a combined valve 'and knife indicated at 21 which is provided with a stem 22 having associated therewith spacedcollars 23. Encircling the stem 22' and posi- 24 which functions to normally hold the valve in the position shown in Figure 1, closing theo enin 18 of the container. The forward or ree e ge of this valve is beveled to provide acuttin edge 25 to cut oil a strip or portion of tie contents of the container forced throu h theopening 18 by theplunger 19, as will; be readily understood. Depending from the valve is a brush su 'port in the nature of a substantially shaped bracket indicated at 26 and which includes spacedpins 27 rising from the oposite sides of the bracket to support therush 28 in the manner shown in Figure 1, the fingers orpins 27 holding the brush against lateral displacement so as to insure proper positioning of the brush beneath theopening 18 to receive the contents of the container. This brush support is also utilized to open the valve against the tension of thespring 24, as it is only necessary to push upon the support after the brush has been arranged thereon. Carried .by thissupport 26 is abracket 29 including a ring-like y portion -30 designed to support asmall receptacle 31 directly beneath the brush to prevent any part of the contents falling onto the floor. It will be noted that thebracket 10 is provided with aslot 32 in which thebrush support 26 operates, the opposed ends of this slot limiting the movement of the parts.

In Figure 6 I have shown a modified'construction wherein the hollow bracket, indicated at 33, is substantially the same as thebracket 10 above described, including thebase portion 34 adapted to be secured to a wall or other support. This bracket has formed therewith thebottom 35 of the container including the spaced inner andouter walls 36 and 37 respectively, the former being threaded into theflange 38 of the bottom while thewall 37 is secured in an suitable manner to theflange 39. The ttom is provided with an outlet opening 40 through which the contents of the container is disensed. A combined valve and knife is inicated at 41 and is adapted to slide throu h .a slot 42 formed in the forward end oft e bracket 33 directly beneath the outlet opening 40, and normally'held in a closed position by means of a spring 43 which surrounds thestem 44 of the valve, the spring being disposed within thebracket 33 betweenthe spacedcollars 45. The valve is lprovidedwith anopening 46 adapted to register withtheopening 40 when the valve is opened, one edge of this opening 46 being beveled or sharpened, as at 47, to permit the valve to be used in the capacity of a knife for cutting off a strip of cream or the like as it is forced through theopenings 40 and 46, respectively. It will be noted that in this form of the invention the valve is operated by the hand, being provided with a thumb engaging .member 4-8 for that purpose, in contradistinction to the construction and operation shown in Figure l, wherein the valve is `opened through the instrumentality of the brush. In other words, in the structure shown in Figure 6 use of a brush support and also the receptacle shown at 3l in Figure l is dispensed with.

While it is believed that from the foregoing description the nature and advantages of the invention will be apparent, Iv

A device of the character described comprising a hollow wall bracket including a bottom having an opening therein, and spaced concentrically disposed flanges, inner and outer spaced contalners supported by said flanges, said inner container including a bottom having an opening registering with the opening in the bottom of said bracket, a spring pressed follower arranged to operate within the inner container, a combined slide valve and knife positioned within said bracket and arranged to normally close the opening in the bottom thereof, said bracket having a longitudinal slot, a sub-4 stantially L-shape-d arm projecting through the'slot and carried by said valve, and constituting abrush support, spaced lugs, rising from the opposite sides of the support and adapted to engage the opposite sides of 'a brush vto hold the latter positioned thereon.
