SYRINGE HOLDING CLIP.

Be it known that we, TNnz L. HAnMoN and STANLEY F. GIBBS, citizens of the United States, residing at Loma Linda and Glendale, respectively, in the counties of San Bernardino and Los Angeles and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Syringe-Holding Clips, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to syringe holding clips and particularly to a device for attachment to any ordinary type of fountain syringe which will retain the nozzle of the syringe when not in use above the water level in the water container.

A further object is to provide a syringe holding spring clip member providing security of the nozzle when placed in the spring clip member facilitating ready removal of the nozzle if desired; 1 c

It is readily apparent that the value of such a device lies in the disposal of the nozzle above the water-level in the fountain syringe container to prevent a siphon of the water or inadvertent leaking of water through the nozzle.

Other objects and advantages will be made manifest in the following specification of an embodiment of the invention illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

The details of construction and use of the invention are as follows:

An ordinary type of fountain syringe water container 1 as illustrated in Figure 1 being formed with a flat back 2 and asemicircular front 3 is adapted to rest upon a shelf or hang upon a hook in the usual manner. To remedy this a syringe holding clip is formed of astraight strap 10 preferably a metal, strap and this is bent at its upper endto form, a hook 11. Adjacent the upper end of thestrap 10 is fastened atransverse memberv 12 which is curved in a seIni-circular form enclosing the hook 11 and adapted to' conform to thesemi-circular front 3 of thewater container 1. This transverse member may be welded, soldered, riveted or fastened by any suitable means to thestraight strap 10. Aclip member 13 is formed of resilient material such as a metal spring per end with a short outwardlybent lip 20. Thesection 18 is bent into a semi-circular shape and formed with a lip 21, so that the opposingsections 17 and 18 provide an opening into which an object havinga substantially circular diameter may be inserted. Thelips 20 and 21 are adapted to 'act as guideways for the article to be inserted. As theclip member 13 is made of spring material thesections 17 and 18 are adapted to accommodate themselves to the nozzles of various sizes and to firmly grasp whatever nozzle may be placed therein. Theclip member 13 is secured to thestraight strap 10 by any suitable means such as soldering or riveting.

The use of the invention is very simple. The hook 11 is placed over therim 25 of thewater container 1 and the semi-circulartransverse member 12 is pushed against thefront 3 and engaged underthehead 26 of the water container. Thusthe hook will support the syringe holding clip and thetransverse member 12 fitting against the bead of the water container will prevent the clip from being disconnected.
