L. L. BARBIN NURSING BOTTLE nonbills'g,
Filed Oct. 31,192
Z. L. fiarbtfz Patented Dec. 29, 1925.
UNITED STATES LEO LOUIS BAR/BIN, OF BERLIN, NEW HAMPSHIRE.
NURSING-BOTTLE Application filed October 31, 1923 To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Lno L. BARBIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Berlin, in the county of Coos and State of New Hampshire, have invented new and useful Improvements in Nursing-Bottle Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to nursery devices and has for its object the provision of a novel device for holding a nursing bottle in a crib, bed, carriage or the like in such position that it will be convenient to be reached by the infant and at the same time incapable of being pushed away or CllS- located.
An important and more specific object is the provision of a device of this character which will be easily kept in a sanitary condition and which will possess the additional advantage of being simple and inexpensive to manufacture and use, efiicient and durable in service and a general improvement in the art.
With the above and other objects and advantages in view the invention consists in the details of construction to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
The figure shows an elevation of the device with a nursing bottle in place.
In carrying out the invention I make use of a sheet orpiece 20 of comparatively thick rubber, which is slit along twolines 21 to define astrap 22 beneath which the bottle, indicated at A, may be inserted. The resilience of the rubber will hold the bottle properly in place. For holding this rubber base in position, I provide a plurality oftabs 23 which are suitably secured to the corners of the base and which pass throughsafety pins 24 adapted to be engaged with the bed clothing. These tabs are provided HOLDER.
Serial No. 671,993.
with adjustingslides 25 whereby the proper tension may be placed u on the device to hold it against being accidentallyremoved.
From the foregoing description and a study of the drawing it will be apparent that I have thus provided a simple and inexpensive device which will be highly etficient for the purpose specified and which will operate to hold a nursing bottle in convenient reach of the infant while at the same time preventing the bottle from slipping out of place or being pushed out. The base is easily washable and when in the course of time the tabs become soiled they may be easily replaced so that the device may be rendered as good as new with hardly any expense.
While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention it is of course to be understood that I reserve the right to make such changes in the form, construction and arrangement of parts as will-not depart from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claim.
Having thus described my invention I claim:
A device of the character described com prising a rectangular sheet of rubber having spaced parallel slits therein defining a central tongue and a pair of side tongues, said sheet being adapted to serve as a holder for a bottle, inserted between the central and said pair of tongues, the formation of the sheet from rubber insuring elasticity and providing a gripping of the bottle, the corners of the sheet being formed with open ings, and longitudinally adjustable tabs of flexible material detachably engaged through said openings and carrying securing elements.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
LEO LOUIS BARBIN.
