Be it known that I, ELSIE- W. KIRBY, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, county of New York, borough of Manhattan, and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Massagin Devices, of whlch the following is a ful clear, and exact specification.

B My invention relates to toilet devices and refers particularly to devices suitable for the application ofcreams and pastes .to the face orother portions of the body. 3

In the application of creams and pastes 5 to the face for the purpose of cleansing or softening the skin, it is-essential 1 that they be thoroughly massaged into the SklIl, in order that they may accomplish their eflfects in the most eflicient manner.

tremely objectionable.

The device of my invention overcomes all of these "objectionable features and presents in the hand in sue a manner that it may be inserted into a face cream holding receptacle for the removal of a portion of the cream, which ma 'then'be massaged into the face without t e fingers of the operator coming into contact with either the cream or the skin of the face. v

The hygienic, efiicient and economic features of t e device are evident upon a further consideration of myspecification and its accompanying drawings.

The particular form of the device of my invention, shown in the accompanying drawings, comprises abase member 10, preferably of rubber, having a plurality ofresilient projections 11, 11 upon its lower face. The end portion 'of the base is extended to form aguard 12 and a plurality ofpartitions 13, 13 divide the guard portioninto a plurality of finger receiving receptacles,

extended somewhat beyond theguard 12. Ahole 14 may be employed as a means for suspending the device w en it is not in use.

In operation, the .fingers of the operator are inserted into the finger receiving receptor. cle, the abutment of the fingers with the guard elements and the partitions serving to maintain the device in positionfor the thumb of the operator may be placed under the device for a similar purpose. 1

The forward under portion of the device is then introduced into the paste and upon withdrawal carries some of the paste, which is then applied to the face, or other portion of the body, and by a movement of the device is massaged into the skin, thus producing a thorough manipulation of the aste without contact between the hand 0 the operator and the paste.

I do not limit myself to the particular size, shape, number or arrangement of parts, as shown and described, as -these are given simply as a means for clearly explaining the device of my invention.

l/Vhat I claim is In a massaging device, in combination, a pliable washable .base, a plurality of pliable projections carried by one face of the base, aplurality of parallel projections caring the parallel projections.
