M. E. ZELLER.-
5 Harness-Findings.
N0,]55,057, Patented Sept.15,1874.
UNITED STATES PATENT QFEIOE MELANGTHON E. ZELLER, OF IVESDALE, ILLINOIS.
IMPROVEMENT IN HARNESS-FINDINGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 155,057, dated September 15, 187 4 application filed June 18, 1874.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, M. E. ZELLER, of Ivesdale, in the county of Ohampaign and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Harness-Findings, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which represents a perspective view of my harness-finding as applied to a check-hook.
Corresponding parts in the two figures are represented by corresponding letters.
This invention relates to a certain improvement in harness-findings; and it consists of a saddleplate having an eye and crupper-loop cast in one piece, in combination with a falling hook, substantially as hereinafter more fully set forth.
In the annexed drawing, A refers to a plate, which, to permit of its attachment to the saddle orother portion of the harness, is provided with holes for the reception of rivets or other fastenings. Upon this plate is cast an elevation, at, which is provided with an eye or passage, a, to receive a hook, o.
By means of this construction the hook c is caused to lie down, instead of remaining in a Vertical position, as usual, after use, so that it will be out of the way of the rider of the animal or horse in going to and coming from work.
b is the crapper-loop, cast in one piece with the plate A.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
' The saddle-plate A, eye a, and crupperloop I), cast in one piece, in combination with the falling hook c, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
MELANOTHON E. ZELLER.
