The, present invention is similar in some respects, to a surgical snare 'and universal handle for which I have executed an application for'Letters Patent ofev'en dateherewith, the said application being intended more. particularly for use as a surgical snare per se although having capabilities of use as a uniiersal handle for carrying various kindsof surgicalinstruments. "The inven tion isalso similar to the surgical snare forwhichil filed Letters Patent on December 24,1919, under SerialNumber 75156.

This causes the screw or pin 14 to move along theslot 27, thereby drawing the block '5 toward the handhold 2, with a speed which is not of necessity thesame as the speed of movement of the lever, but which is proportional to the curvature of the surface of the forwardedge of the slot.
