IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED REFRIGERATORS AND SIDEBOARDS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,186, dated May 20, 1873 application filed February 26, 12573:

.To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GRANVILLE L. PACK- ARD, of Everett, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Refrigerating-Sideboard; and do hereby declare the same to be fully described in the following specification and represented iu the accompanying drawing, in which- Figure 1 denotes a front elevation of a sideand provided with one or more shelves, supported above the top of the main portion in the usual manner. B B are the doors opening into the interior of the sideboard. Within the interior or chamber 0 I dispose a refrigerator of any desirable shape or kind. This refrigerator, if desirable, may occupy the whole of the chamber 0 but I prefer to divide the same by a vertical partition, P, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, so as to form a dry chamber distinct from the refrigerating-chamber, such chamber D having a door, d, to close and form an air-tight compartment. F is another vertical partition, which extends transversely across the chamber 0, and constitutes one of the walls of the ice-receptacle J, the bottom b of the latter inclining backward, and having a metallic covering, 0, which terminates in a gutter communicating with a waste-receiving or water pipe, by which the liquid produced by the melting of the ice may be conducted or conveyed to any desirable location, the said ice-receptacle being provided with a sliding door, H, by which access may be readily had to the ice-chamber. G is a space or chamber below the ice-receptacle, such chamber G communicating with the refrigerating-chamber L,

From the above it will be seen that by my invention 1 so combine all the essentials of a sideboard and refrigerator as to producea useful and compact piece of furniture.

I do not claim either of the inventions. as shown and described in Letters Patent No. 68,723 or 107,180, as my invention'differs from both of them. .Nor do i claim the broad combination of a refrigerator and sideboard, irrespective of construction, as I am aware that such is not new.
