However, it is to be understood that in adapting the same to meet different conditions, various changes .in the form, proportion and minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the nature of the invention as claimed hereinafter.

Figure 1 is a sectional detail of thehub structure ,of a rotary colter constructed in accordance with and embodying the essential features of the invention.

Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following descri tion and indicated in both views of the rawings by like reference characters.
The numeral 1 designates the rotary colter which is of ordinary disk form. The hub comprisescompanion sections 2 and 3, each comprising a hollow centrally disposed portion and an outer flange portion 4. The hub sections are disposed upon opposite sides of the colter'l and are secured thereto by means ofbolts 5 which pass through registering openings in the flanges 4 and colter 1. Anaxle 6 passes through openings in the outer ends of the hollow ortions of the hub sections. The walls ,0 the openings through which theaxle 6 passes, are
grooved to receive apacking 7 whereby dust and moisture are excluded and the lubricant prevented from escaping. A cap 8'is fitted to the hollow-portion of each hub section and is pinned or otherwisesecured to the axle. A suitable standard or support 9re 7 ceives theaxle 6 and forms sustaining means therefor and the colter mounted thereon.
The inner portion of the opening of the hub is enlarged to receive a roller bearingwhich may be of any preferred construction and" which as shown comprises asleeve 10, rollers 11 andretaining rings 12. Thesleeve 10 fits snugly within the enlarged opening of the hub and is apertured as indicated at 13 to provide free passage of lubricant from the oil chamber to the bearing. The oil chamber is indicated at 14 and consists of an enlargement of the hub opening. The openings of the hub sections are enlarged at their inner endsv and the eye or opening of the colter 1 is of like diameter. These several parts result in the formation of theoil chamber 14 when the parts are assembled. Anopening 15 extends outwardly from theoil chamber 14 and is provided in theoutermost section 3 and is supplied with a yielding closure '16 of well known construction whereby oil may be'suppliedto the chamber from an oil can without admitting dust, moisture or foreign matter finding its way into the oil chamber.
The construction is such as to admit of the parts being readily assembled or 'disassembled and in operation the colter is free to rotate with a minimum amount of resistance and the wearing parts are kept lubri cated and are prevented from excessive wear because of the structure whereby foreign matter is excluded from entering the bearmg.
Having thus fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In combination a colter, hubsections at the sides of the colter, each consisting of a hollow portion and a flange, t e outer ends of the hollow portions having openings to receive the axle and the walls of the said openings being grooved to receive a pack ing, the hub, opening being enlarged to receive a roller bearing and further enlarged to provide an annular oil chamber from. which extends a feed opening in which is.
fitted a normally closed element anda roller bearing disposed within the enlarged portion of the hub opening.
2.,A hub structure forrotary colters comprising a pair of sections, means for clamping said sections in engagement with a colter, each section compris ng a hollow portion, an axle extending through said hollow portions, elongated rollers positioned within said hollow portions and interposed between said. axle and the body of said sections, packing means carried bysaid sections and tightly engaging said axle for constituting a seal therefor, said sections being further enlarged for providing an annular oil chamber and havinga feed opening for permitting the insertion of lubricant therein;
3. In combination with a colter, a plurality of hub sections said hub sections adapted to receive an axle, packin means carried b the ends of said hub sections and 15 constitutlng a seal therefor, said hub sections provided with enlarged openings, roller bearings extending longitudinally of said openings and lon itudinally of said axle, a further enlarge opening arranged substantially intermediate the ends of said roller bearing, and one of said sections provided with a port for facilitating the feeding of lubricant to said last mentioned enlarged opening.
