expensive apparatus by means of which a plurality of fascinating and entertaining games may be played.

More specifically the invention has for its object an apparatus by means of which the well-known game of pinochle may be simulated and played without the use of cards as is ordinarily necessary.

To the above ends my invention consists in the novel parts and combinations of parts hereinafter more specifically described and then specified in the claims. 7

In the accompanying drawings illustratin a practical embodiment of the invention:

Referring more particularly to both figures of the drawing:

1 indicates the base of my improved apparatus which is provided with anopening 2. 3 indicates a block secured to the top of said base and having a cup-shaped annular trough a receiving and holding a plurality ofanti-friction balls 5. Extending upwardly through said base and block is a shaft 6 which is held in position by means of a nut 7 screwed on the lower screwthreadedend of said shaft within theopening 2. The said shaft 6 is provided with ahub 8, a fixed collar 9, asquared extension 10 and a screw-threaded upper end 11.

18 indicates a removable, paper, inner disk having a squared central opening receiving the squared extension 10'to prevent the disk from rotation, said disk being superimposed on thestationary disk 17 and held againstmovement by anut 19 on the threaded end 11 of the shaft 6 which is screwed a ainst awasher 20 engaging the saidpaper disk 18. For the particular game illustrated, the upper surface of saidpaper disk 18 is marked off or divided into three sectors or spaces,

as illustrated, which may be of different colors if so desired and which are designated Bid, Meld and Points. An arrow is marked on each sector preferably at or near the center thereof and pointing toward the periphery of the disk.

21 indicates a removable, outer paper disk having an enlarged annular opening 22 of a size suficient to receive the paper 'disk 18 without contact or engagement of'the two disks. Said disk fits snugly or: is seated I within thedepression 16 of therotatable disk 14 and its upper surface is marked off or divided into a plurality of equal sectors or spaces, as illustrated, each having an arrow marked thereon pointing toward theinner disk 18. Each sector is designated by a different number, one of which is preferably zero, another five and the others of which are preferably different and amultiple of five.

The game may be played by two or more persons after the paper inner andouter disks are mounted in position. on the apparatus in the manner described. Thedisk 14. is rotated or spun consecutively by each player in order to determine his bid. hen thedisk 14 comes to rest after rotation, the players bid is the number or amount designated in the segment on the outer disk registering with the arrow of the v bid segment on the inner disk. The amount bid may determine, if so desired. the order in which the players again operate or rotate thedisk 14 for continuing the game. the player having the highest amount bid being the first to play, the second highest, the second to play and so on as to all the remaining players. The amount bid is marked on a score-card under each, players name and the first player or highest bidder followed by the other players again rotates or spins thedisk 14. WVhen the disk again comes to rest the players meld is the number or amount designated in the segment on the outer disk registering with the arrow of the meld segment of the inner disk and the player is credited on the score-card with this amount. Likewise to determine"points hole and his score is marked with a minus amount which is the difference between the two amounts specified. In other words,

plus and minus system of scoring is used as in the ordinary game of"bid pinochle, the numberof points for winning the game being set at some arbitrary figure, as for instance, one thousand.

The construction of my apparatus is such as to makefor'compactness and strength while at the same time permitting the ro tatable disk tobe so finely'balanced and so mounted as to be capable of rotation for several minutes, if so desired, before coming to rest. Furthermore, by making thepaper disks 18 and 21 removable, I am enabled to supply other removable disks with the apparatus whichmay be applied thereto and by means of which games other than that just described may be conveniently played.

What I claim as my invention is 1; A game apparatus comprising a base, a shaft mounted thereon, a disk support mounted on said shaft, a rotatable outer diskf connected to said disk support and pro vided with an annular opening therein, a collar on said shaft, a fixed disk mounted on said shaft within the opening of the rotatable disk and engaging said collar and re-v movable disks carried by the rotatable and' fixed disks and each containing indicia adapted to register with each other.

2. A game apparatus comprising a base. a shaft mounted thereon and extending up 'wardly therefrom, a block on said base through which the shaft extends and pro vided with a trough, a plurality of antifriction balls in said trough, a disk support mounted on said shaft and engaging said balls, a rotatable disk fastened to said disk support and provided with an opening therein and-a fixed disk mounted on said shaft within the opening in said rotatable disk.

A game apparatus comprising a base, a shaft mounted thereon, a block on said base through which the shaft extends and pro vided with a trough, a plurality of antifriction balls in said trough, a disk support loosely mounted on said shaft and engaging said balls, a rotatable disk fastened to said disk support and provided with an annular opening therein and with a depression in its upper face, a collar on said shaft, a fixed disk carried by said shaft within the opening in said rotatable disk and engaging said collar, a removable diskcarried by said rotatable disk and fitting within the depres sion in its upper face and a second removable disk carried by said fixed disk, said re movable disks each containing indicia adapted to register with each other. e

4. A game apparatus for playing the game of pinochle comprising a fixed disk and a rotatable disk, one of said disks being divided into spaces designated Bid, Meld and Points and the other of said disks being divided into a plurality of spaces each having a number and adapted to register with the spaces on the first-named disk, whereby when said rotatable disk is brought to rest after rotation the score of the player is credited with the amount appearing in the space registering with the space bearing eitherof the aforesaid particular designations as the amount to be determined.

5. A game apparatus for playing the game of pinochle comprising a'shaft, a fixed disk mounted on said shaft and divided into a plurality of sectors designated by the words Bid, Meld and Points and a rotatable disk mounted on said shaft and provided with an annular opening therein receiving said fixed disk, said rotatable disk being divided into a pl'uralityof sectors each having nuniberand adapted to register with the designated sectors on said fixed disk where;- by when said rotatable disk is brought to rest after rotation the score of the player is credited with the amount appearing in the sector onthe movable disk registering with the sector on the fixed disk bearing either of the aforesaid designations as the amount to be determined.
