To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, FRIEDRICH JULIUS Peri-is, engineer, a subject of the German Emperor, residing at Eichenstrasse 60, Hamburg, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in or Relating to Bottle- Closures, of which the followingjis a specification;
This invention relates to a bottle closure.
The bottle closure consists of a cap provided with lips and retaining tongues, and it is the object of the invention so to form the lips and tongues that when the cap is being placed in position over the bottlemouth the upper ends of the tongues will engage under the rim of the bottle neck, and when pressed against the bottle neck will pull the cap tightly over the bottle mouth and thus produce an effective gastight closure.
The invention 1s particularly suitable for the closure of bottles containingliquids under pressure. 1
The new bottle closure is illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

Having now described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Let ters Patent is A bottle closure comprising a cap, with depending lips and upwardly extending tongues on said lips,and strengthening ribs on said lips and tongues, said tongues being so formed that they will engage withthe bottle rim and when pressed against the bottle neck will pull the cap downwardover the bottle mouth.
