Automatic food intake recording system

The present invention relates to the field of recording systems, and in particular to a recording system that can automatically determine and calculate the types and weight of food consumed by patients at each meal and record the food consumed to eliminate the inconvenience and low accuracy of self-recording.

In medical institutions, recording the patient's input, that is, the amount of food they eat, is a very important task. Its purpose is to confirm whether the patient's nutrition is sufficient and balanced, and it helps to formulate treatment plans and observe the patient's recovery. In clinical practice, most patients themselves, their families, or even foreign caregivers will record their meals, and then the medical staff will make an overall record to know the condition of each patient.

In practice, patients, family members or foreign caregivers must weigh the food at each meal and record the food eaten and the weight on paper. This is very inconvenient for patients, family members or foreign caregivers. In addition to eating by themselves or helping patients eat, they also need to spend extra time and energy to measure and record each meal. Especially when there are many types of food, currently only the overall weight can be recorded, and the corresponding weight of each food cannot be accurately known, resulting in insufficient accuracy. On the other hand, for foreign caregivers, this recording method is also extremely inconvenient and prone to errors and omissions. In addition, in addition to the low willingness of patients, family members or foreign caregivers to record due to inconvenience, the accuracy of the recorded items is also lacking. On the other hand, medical staff must take time out from their busy care work to organize the eating records of each patient and record the food intake of the patient in each period. This may increase the burden on medical staff in a busy working environment. In addition, they also need to spend time teaching and cooperating with some patients, family members or foreign caregivers in order to obtain more accurate eating records.

In view of this, the invention team conceived and proposed a recording system for automatically determining food intake, hoping to effectively assist in the food intake recording operation and solve the current dilemma.

The carrier 1 has at least one placement area 10, and the placement area 10 is used to place at least one kind of food, and the carrier 10 is provided with a first sensing module 11. Preferably, when the carrier 1 has a single placement area 10, the family or patient can place all the food therein, or when the carrier 1 has multiple placement areas 10, it can be designed to look like a dinner plate, so that the family or patient can easily place the food by category. The first sensing module 11 can be, for example, set at a corner of the carrier 10 to achieve the function of alignment. The base value database 2 stores at least one preset volume parameter corresponding to the placement area 10, and the food database 3 stores a plurality of food information, wherein the food information includes a food name and a reference volume weight data. Preferably, the food information can be established and stored after big data collection and induction, and the content can be obtained based on the specific gravity characteristics of common foods, such as the actual weight of various foods under the reference volume of 100cm3 .

40。The weighing device 4 is electronically connected to the basic value database 2 and the food database 3, and includes a patient information receiving module 40, a platform 41, a first image capturer 42, four second image capturers 43 and a processor 44. The patient information receiving module 40 is used to receive personal information of the patient. Preferably, the patient information receiving module 40 can obtain the personal information of the patient by, for example, barcode scanning. The generation of the aforementioned barcode can be based on the identification barcode provided by the medical institution to the inpatients, or the electronic medical record system of each medical institution. The platform 41 is used to place the carrier 1 and is provided with a second sensing module 411. When the carrier 1 is placed on the platform 41 with the first sensing module 11 and the second sensing module 411 corresponding to each other, the first sensing module 11 and the second sensing module 411 sense each other to generate a recognition signal. Through the first sensing module 11 and the second sensing module 411, an electronic alignment can be achieved. For example, the first sensing module 11 and the second sensing module 411 sense each other in a manner such as NFC, and the NFC characteristics can be used to achieve the effect of calibrating the position of the carrier 1 placed on the platform 41. Furthermore, in another implementation, the supporting device 1 can also be a tableware exclusive to each patient. In this case, the second sensing module 411 can be communicatively connected to the patient information receiving module 40, and the first sensing module 11 can be built-in with the patient's personal information. In this way, after the supporting device 1 is placed on the platform 41, the second sensing module 411 can further read the personal information and transmit it to the patient information receiving module 40.

The first image capturer 42 is disposed above the platform 41 to capture the placement area 10 and obtain a first weighing image. The four second image capturers 43 are disposed at the front, rear, left and right sides of the platform 41 respectively to capture the placement area 10 and obtain a plurality of second weighing image information.

The processor 44 is disposed on the platform 41 and is connected to the patient information receiving module 40, the first image capturer 42 and the second image capturers 43 in communication. After the recognition signal is generated and the patient information receiving module 40 receives the personal information, the processor 44 drives the first image capturer 42 and the second image capturers 45. The processor 44 includes an image processing unit 441, an image recognition unit 442, a calculation unit 443, a comparison operation unit 444, a unified temporary storage unit 445 and an input information generation unit 446. The image processing unit 441 is used to integrate the first weighing image information and the second weighing image information to obtain at least one comparison image corresponding to the placement area 10. After obtaining the first weighing image information and the second weighing images, they are integrated through the image processing unit 441 to form the comparison image. Specifically, when there are more than two placement areas 10, a better example is to first perform image cutting on the areas of the first weighing image information and the second weighing image information corresponding to each of the placement areas 10, and then place the cut first weighing image information and the second weighing image information at corresponding positions respectively and splice them to form three-dimensional image information as the comparison images. Of course, they can also be spliced in a plane. In other words, when there are multiple placement areas 10, multiple comparison images can be produced.

The image recognition unit 442 is connected to the image processing unit 441 in communication, and is used to recognize the comparison image and obtain at least one food type and mark the comparison image to form a plurality of ruler features. After the comparison image is formed, the image recognition unit 442 recognizes the comparison image and obtains the food type and marks the area occupied by the food in the image to facilitate subsequent calculation and processing, and the identification of the food type can be implemented using artificial intelligence technology or existing image recognition technology. The calculation unit 443 is connected to the image recognition unit 442 and the image processing unit 441 in communication, and is used to use the ruler features of the comparison image and the preset volume parameters for calculation to obtain at least one actual volume information. The ruler features are the ruler states of the area occupied by the food in the comparison image. After calculating with the preset volume parameter of the placement area 10, the distortion problem caused by shooting distance and angle can be eliminated, and the actual size of the food can be obtained according to the actual size of the accommodation area, achieving the function of using the preset volume parameter as a scale to obtain an accurate size.

The comparison operation unit 444 is electronically connected to the calculation unit 443 and the image recognition unit 442 for performing comparison operation based on the actual volume information and the food type and the reference volume weight data to obtain weight information placed in the placement area 10, wherein the weight information includes at least one food type and at least one corresponding actual weight. After obtaining the actual volume information, the actual weight of each food can be obtained by comparing and calculating the food information. For example, the white porridge in the storage area 10 is 300 cm3 after the above-mentioned identification and calculation processing. The food information corresponding to the white porridge in the food database 3 includes the food name of white porridge and the standard volume weight data content of 150g of 100cm3. The comparison operation unit 444 performs a comparison operation based on the food type of white porridge and the corresponding food information, and can obtain the weight information including the food type of white porridge and the actual weight of 450g. Alternatively, the accommodating area 10 contains both white porridge and poached eggs, the actual volume information of the white porridge is 300 cm3 , and the actual volume information of the poached eggs is 30 cm3 , and the food information corresponding to the poached eggs in the food database 3 includes the food name of the poached eggs and the reference volume weight data content of 99 g for 100 cm3 . At this time, the comparison operation unit 444 performs a comparison operation based on the food type of the poached eggs and the corresponding food information, and obtains the actual weight of the poached eggs as 29.7 g. The weight result includes the two food types and the corresponding actual weights, that is, the white porridge has an actual weight of 450 g, and the poached eggs have an actual weight of 29.7 g.

After the weight information is obtained, the weight information is temporarily stored for further judgment through the integrated temporary storage unit 445. Specifically, the integrated temporary storage unit 445 is connected to the comparison operation unit 444 and the patient information receiving module 40 for integrating the weight information with a time stamp and the personal information to generate a weighing result and temporarily store it. Next, the intake information generating unit 446 is connected to the integrated temporary storage unit 445 for receiving the weighing result and making a judgment, wherein, when the two weighing results have the same personal information and different time stamps, the weight information in the weighing results is processed and calculated according to the time stamp sequence to generate a single meal intake information, wherein the single meal intake information includes the personal information, food intake data, a meal start and end time point and a meal duration. Through the intake information generating unit 446, the recording system can automatically determine whether the same patient has been measured again after eating. When it is confirmed that this is the case, the intake information generating unit 446 captures the weighing results of the same patient and subtracts the weight information therein in chronological order to obtain the type of food and actual amount of food consumed by the patient at the meal, as well as a variety of related time information. Among them, the intake information generating unit 446 can determine whether the weighing results belong to the same eating process based on, for example, time intervals, food types, image frames, etc. for multiple pieces of the weighing result information and process and calculate them to obtain the single meal intake information. Finally, the data can be stored through the recording module 5, which is connected to the weighing device 4 and the nursing database 9 by telecommunication, so as to store the single meal information in the nursing database 9. In this way, through the recording system, the type and weight of food consumed by the patient at each meal can be obtained and automatically stored by intelligent image recognition and calculation, so as to facilitate medical staff to review, eliminate the inconvenience of self-recording and measurement, and greatly improve the accuracy of the record, so as to achieve the goal of electronic recording of medical information.

Furthermore, the weighing device 4 further includes a display module 45 and a medical login module 46. The display module 45 is electronically connected to the medical login module 46 and the recording module 5. The medical login module 456 is used to receive a login instruction. After the medical login module 46 receives the login instruction, the display module 45 retrieves and displays the single meal intake information through the recording module 5, and displays a completion message after the recording module 5 receives the single meal intake information generated by the intake information generating unit 446. When medical staff want to check the eating records of patients in their management area, the medical staff can quickly know the eating status of each patient through the above-mentioned medical login module 46 and the display module 45. It will be of great help in handover or providing relevant information to doctors. Medical staff do not need to go to each bed to record and consolidate one by one, which can greatly reduce the processing time required for the operation. Of course, the weighing device 4 can also be further set up as a table output module for medical staff to output a consolidated electronic form to enhance the integrity and convenience of the record. And through the display module 45, the effect of reminding patients, family members or caregivers that the weight record has been completed can also be achieved in the form of a message.

Regarding the setting of the recording system for food identification and judgment, a preferred implementation state is that the preset volume parameters of the placement area 10 include the length, width, and depth of the placement area 10, and the ruler features of the comparison image are the length and width of the food in the top, front, back, left, right, and bottom of the placement area 10. Through the above parameters and ruler feature items, the comparison calculation unit 444 can more accurately calculate the actual volume information of each food to obtain the accurate weight of the food.

In addition, the recording module 5 can also integrate multiple eating information of each patient within a certain period of time. In one implementation, when the recording module 5 receives two or more single meal intake information with the same personal information within a set period of time, it processes and calculates according to the food intake data in the single meal intake information, and generates a total intake information and stores it in the nursing database 9. The set period of time can be in days or hours, for example, from 12:00 a.m. of a certain day to 12:00 a.m. of the next day as the set period of time, or it can be set according to the work shifts of medical staff, for example, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as the set period of time, which is more conducive to medical staff to check the eating status within their working hours. During the set period, if any of the patients eats multiple times and has multiple single meal intake information, the recording module 5 can achieve the function of automatic integration, eliminating the inconvenience of medical staff having to calculate multiple single meal intake information.

Preferably, the carrier device 1 is further provided with at least one light-blocking sensor 12 and a reminder module 13. The light-blocking sensor 12 is arranged in the placement area 10 and is communicatively connected to the reminder module 13. When the light-blocking sensor 12 senses that the light-blocking state continues for a first set time, it drives the reminder module 13 to issue a first reminder notification. The reminder module 13 is communicatively connected to the first sensing module 11 and stops issuing the first reminder notification and starts timing after the recognition signal is generated. After the reminder module 13 receives the recognition signal and stops issuing the first reminder notification for a second set time, it issues a second reminder notification, wherein the second set time is greater than the first set time. In order to remind the patient, family or caregiver to place the carrier 1 on the platform 41 for weighing, the light blocking sensor 12 and the reminder module 13 can be used to remind the patient when the food is first placed and after a period of eating. The first setting time can be, for example, 1 minute to prevent the patient from forgetting to record and starting to eat. After the carrier 1 is placed on the platform 41 in the correct position, the reminder module 13 can stop providing the first reminder notification. The second setting time is to prevent the patient from forgetting to record after eating, so it is generally longer than the first setting time, for example, 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc. When the carrier 1 is a tableware dedicated to each patient, the second setting time length can be customized according to the status of each patient to meet the normal eating time of each patient and achieve a more accurate reminder effect. The second reminder notification triggered by the second set time can be manually released, or automatically stopped again in response to the generation of the approval signal. The reminder component 13 can be used as a reminder notification through components such as a display screen, a buzzer or an LED light, and the first reminder notification and the second reminder notification issued by the reminder component 13 can be set according to needs.

Specifically, the recording system achieves the effect of automatically generating electronic eating records through specific hardware and software technical features. After the carrier containing food is placed on the platform of the weighing device, weighing images are captured from all directions. Subsequently, through intelligent image integration, recognition, comparison, calculation, etc., the types of food eaten and their actual weights are obtained. The food status before and after eating can be automatically calculated, judged and recorded, and it has extremely good application convenience. That is, for patients, family members or caregivers, they only need to place the carrier before and after eating on the platform of the weighing device to automatically generate a record of food intake with food types and weights, without having to weigh and record food types and their corresponding weights one by one, which effectively solves the difficulties and inconveniences in food record operations. Medical staff only need to use the nursing database to quickly browse the food records of each patient, eliminating the need to find patients, family members or caregivers one by one to collect food information, and the many inconveniences caused by paper records with mixed handwriting and difficult to identify information. In terms of handover and information integration, the recording system can help medical staff significantly reduce the time and effort required to handle the project. The present invention also proposes many technical features that can be further added. For example, to enhance the convenience of reviewing the captured status at any time, this can be achieved through the display module and the medical login module of the weighing device. In this way, when there is no device available to connect to the nursing database, the records can be directly read through the weighing device. At the same time, the display module can also prompt the patient, family members or caregivers whether the weight record is completed. ; or to help medical staff integrate multiple meal information of the same patient, the recording module can add up the multiple meal intake information of the same patient within a set period to generate applicable total intake information for medical staff to review and use; and to further prevent patients, family members or caregivers from forgetting to record weight, the light blocking sensor of the carrier and the reminder module can realize an automatic reminder function. Based on practical experience and feedback from visits to actual hospitalized patients and medical staff, the team of this invention understands that the patient's food record task is a very important but inconvenient item for both patients and medical staff. In the treatment and care process, there are already many matters that need to be paid attention to and tedious matters. Therefore, if patients and medical staff can be provided with relevant auxiliary systems in terms of food record, the accuracy and convenience of the recorded information can be greatly improved, and patients can also get a better treatment and recuperation experience. Therefore, the invention team conceived and proposed an automated recording system that is different from the existing simple weighing device. Through a greatly automated and simplified weight recording method and the function of automatic integration of recorded information, it can effectively assist patients and medical staff to easily complete the recording of necessary and important information.
