With the increasing popularity of automobiles and the increasing sophistication of road navigation, car navigation apps are becoming increasingly indispensable. This is especially true when traveling to unfamiliar locations, where car navigation apps provide a variety of traffic information to help drivers reach their destination safely and smoothly. However, existing car navigation apps typically only provide a preview of the next intersection name or display a static image of the road. When drivers are driving on unfamiliar roads or complex roads (such as overpasses), the static image of the road they learn often fails to accurately indicate the current route and can still lead to misjudgment.

To this end, this application provides a navigation method that can prioritize the display of dynamic intersection navigation images, allowing users to drive according to the intersection navigation images, thereby better navigating the user.

First, the architecture of the navigation system involved in the embodiment of this application is introduced.

FIG1 is a system architecture diagram provided by an embodiment of the present application. The system includes a plurality of vehicles 101, terminal devices 102, image acquisition devices 103, and a server 104. Each vehicle 101 is equipped with a terminal device 102 and an image acquisition device 103. The terminal device 102 on each vehicle 101 receives images captured by the image acquisition device 103. The images are time- and date-stamped and coupled with the coordinates of the vehicle 101 and, optionally, the operating status of the vehicle 101. The terminal device 102 stores the recorded images in date and time order along with the coupled vehicle data and uploads them to the server 104. When the server 104 receives a request for traffic condition information on a specific road section from a terminal device 102 on any vehicle 101, the server 104 sends the most recent image of the corresponding road section to the terminal device 102 on the corresponding vehicle 101 via the communication network. In this way, in this system, the server 104 collects road images through crowdsourcing.

Terminal device 102 can also send control commands to vehicle 101. Specifically, terminal device 102 can be installed inside vehicle 101 or carried by a user in vehicle 101. Terminal device 102 includes a data processor. This processor processes received images to obtain road information corresponding to vehicle 101. Furthermore, terminal device 102 provides an interface for human-computer interaction, displaying information such as the most recent image of the requested road section, current road conditions, and a route map to the user.

Image acquisition device 103 is mounted on the exterior of vehicle 101. Specifically, multiple image acquisition devices 103 may be mounted around vehicle 101. For example, four image acquisition devices 103 may be mounted around vehicle 101, each serving as a front-view image acquisition device, a rear-view image acquisition device, a left-view image acquisition device, and a right-view image acquisition device. The front-view image acquisition device is mounted at the center of the front of the vehicle, the rear-view image acquisition device is mounted at the center of the rear of the vehicle, the left-view image acquisition device is mounted at the midpoint of the left side of the vehicle along its length, and the right-view image acquisition device is mounted at the midpoint of the right side of the vehicle along its length. It is worth noting that the above description uses only four image acquisition devices as an example. In actual applications, more or fewer image acquisition devices 103 may be installed around the vehicle 101. The image acquisition devices 103 can capture images of the road conditions around the vehicle 101 while the vehicle 101 is driving. By processing and analyzing the captured road condition images, obstacles, lane markings, signal lights, and signal stop bars around the vehicle 101 can be detected. In other words, by processing and analyzing the captured road condition images, preliminary obstacle detection results, lane marking detection results, signal light detection results, and stop bar detection results can be obtained.

Server 104 can be a cloud server or a remote server. Server 104 can be configured with appropriate programs to process received images, such as image recognition and image annotation. In some embodiments, server 104 can also proactively update images of corresponding road segments to terminal device 102 without the terminal device 102 initiating a request.

It should be noted that terminal device 102 can be an in-vehicle terminal device or another mobile terminal device currently located within vehicle 101. For example, terminal device 102 can be an industrial computer, portable computer, smartphone, tablet computer, or other terminal. Image acquisition device 103 can be a camera or a webcam capable of capturing images. For example, image acquisition device 103 can be a fisheye surround view camera.

Optionally, the terminal device 102 in the above system architecture may be replaced by a vehicle control unit (VCU). In this case, the method steps provided in the following embodiments may be applied to the vehicle 101 and executed by the vehicle control unit of the vehicle 101.

Please refer to Figure 2, which is a flow chart of the navigation method provided by an embodiment of this application. According to different requirements, the order of the steps in the flow chart can be changed, and some steps can be omitted.

In some embodiments, the navigation method includes:

Step S210: Obtain map data and generate a corresponding navigation route.

Specifically, after the user inputs the starting location and destination on the human-computer interaction interface of the terminal device 102, the terminal device 102 obtains map data and generates a corresponding navigation route.

The map data may be stored in the memory of the terminal device 102; the map data may also be stored in the server 104 or other remote servers. The terminal device 102 downloads the map data by sending a data request to the server 104 or other remote servers.

For example, the terminal device 102 may generate multiple navigation routes based on the user's input of the starting location and destination, and then display one of the navigation routes based on the user's selection. For another example, the terminal device 102 may recommend and display one of the multiple navigation routes based on factors such as current road traffic congestion, distance, driving time, or user preference.

Step S220: Receive a request to view any intersection in the navigation route.

Intersections include locations where road names change and road nodes change within a navigation route. Specifically, locations where road names change within a navigation route include locations where the route turns. For example, referring to Figure 3 , an intersection may include the location of node C where the first road A turns into the second road B, as shown in Figure 3 .

F。The location of a road node change may include the location of an overpass on or off the navigation route. For example, referring to Figure 4, the intersection may include intersection F where ground road D enters overpass E.

Changed road node locations also include interchanges on the navigation route, such as those entering or exiting a highway. For example, as shown in Figure 5, an intersection may include Interchange I where a regular highway G enters Highway H. For example, in step S220, a user touch command inputted on the human-computer interface of the terminal device 102 for any intersection may be received to receive a view request. For example, when a user clicks on any intersection on the navigation route displayed on the human-computer interface, a view request for the corresponding intersection on the navigation route may be received.

In other embodiments, the check request may be automatically triggered when the vehicle 101 travels within a preset range of the intersection. For example, the preset range may be 1000 meters from the intersection. Thus, when the vehicle 101 travels 1000 meters from the intersection, the computer program in the terminal device 102 automatically generates and receives a check request for the intersection.

Step S230: When it is confirmed that there is an intersection navigation image at the intersection, the intersection navigation image is displayed.

The intersection navigation image is a dynamic real-life image within a preset distance of the intersection, and the movement route through the intersection in the intersection navigation image is the same as the navigation route within the preset distance of the intersection.

The default distance includes the starting point and the ending point, and the intersection is located between the starting point and the ending point.

In some embodiments, the starting point is the intersection before the intersection in the direction of the navigation route, and the ending point is the intersection after the intersection in the direction of the navigation route. In this way, the intersection navigation image can be a real-life image of driving from the intersection above to the intersection below.

In step S230, after receiving a request to view any intersection on the navigation route, the terminal device 102 sends a data request for traffic information at that intersection to the server 104. Based on the data request, the server 104 returns a real-world image of the intersection. If no real-world image exists for the intersection, the server 104 returns corresponding feedback information, indicating that no real-world image has been collected. In this way, the terminal device 102 can confirm whether a navigation image for the intersection exists based on the real-world image or feedback information returned by the server 104.

Specifically, server 104 is in communication with a real-world image database that stores real-world images uploaded by multiple vehicles 101. When server 104 receives a data request from terminal device 102, it captures at least one real-world image from the database that passes through the intersection. In the captured real-world image, the route through the intersection is identical to a navigation route within a preset distance of the intersection. For example, the captured real-world image may record a real-world image of a vehicle traveling from an intersection above the intersection to a intersection below the intersection. Furthermore, the server 104 also obtains the timestamp of the data request sent by the terminal device 102, and returns the real scene image whose time of passing through the intersection is closest to the timestamp among the at least one captured real scene image to the terminal device 102. The terminal device 102 uses the received real scene image of the intersection as the intersection navigation image of the intersection.

(Point of interest)。In step S230, when it is confirmed that there is an intersection navigation image at the intersection, the terminal device 102 also performs image recognition processing and image annotation processing on the received intersection navigation image, so as to display dynamic driving marks (such as driving direction arrows) and landmark marks (Point of interest) at the same time when displaying the intersection navigation image.

Specifically, in some embodiments, the terminal device 102 may use image processing technology and neural networks to identify lane directions, road sign information, and/or the driving directions of vehicles in the intersection navigation image, thereby confirming traffic information such as the driving direction at the intersection or the current speed limit. The terminal device 102 may also combine the intersection navigation image with current map data to identify corresponding stores or buildings in the current intersection navigation image. Furthermore, based on the traffic information and building information obtained by identification, the terminal device 102 also generates corresponding dynamic indicator graphics (such as arrows, convenience store icons, hospital icons, or gas station icons, etc.) through a graphics generation program. When displaying the dynamic intersection navigation image, the dynamic graphics are displayed to better guide the user to drive safely and smoothly, thereby improving the user's driving safety.

Step S240: When it is determined that there is no intersection navigation image at the intersection, a static image of the intersection is displayed.

It is understood that the static image of the intersection can be a map image included in the map data, or a static image of the intersection returned by the server 104.

In some embodiments, when server 104 returns the real-world imagery of the intersection to terminal device 102, it also returns reference data. This reference data indicates the default duration of time required to pass through the intersection. When terminal device 102 detects that the difference between the actual duration of vehicle 101 passing through the intersection and the default duration exceeds a preset threshold, terminal device 102 displays a rating box for the user to rate the credibility of the displayed intersection navigation imagery. Terminal device 102 also feeds the rating data back to server 104. In this way, server 104 can lower the credibility of the corresponding real-world imagery based on the rating data, thereby reducing the number of times the corresponding real-world imagery is sent to terminal device 102.

It is understood that the navigation method provided by this application, upon receiving a viewing request, prioritizes the display of dynamic intersection navigation images, providing users with navigation images with more road details, guiding users through the corresponding intersections, thereby improving user driving safety and enhancing the user experience. Furthermore, the navigation method provided by this application also provides users with more road reference information by placing corresponding dynamic markers in the intersection navigation images, thereby better guiding users through the current intersection.

Continuing with FIG. 6 , in some embodiments, when the intersection navigation image is confirmed to exist, displaying the intersection navigation image includes the following sub-steps:

Step S310: Obtain a timestamp of when the check request for the intersection is received and record it as a first timestamp.

Step S320: Acquire a plurality of real-scene images including the intersection. The plurality of real-scene images including the intersection are also marked with a timestamp of arrival at the intersection, which is recorded as a second timestamp.

In some embodiments, terminal device 102 also sends a heartbeat signal to server 104. This heartbeat signal includes the current coordinates of vehicle 101, where terminal device 102 is located, to update the coordinates of vehicle 101 on server 104. Thus, after server 104 receives a data request from terminal device 102 and confirms through the heartbeat signal that vehicle 101 has not yet passed the intersection, server 104 also sends a real-life image of the intersection to terminal device 102, thereby updating the real-life image of the intersection received by terminal device 102. The real-life image sent by server 104 also includes a timestamp indicating when the vehicle reached the intersection. In this way, the terminal device 102 can obtain a plurality of real-scene images including the intersection, and the plurality of real-scene images including the intersection are also marked with a timestamp of arrival at the intersection, which is recorded as a second timestamp.

Step S330: Compare the plurality of second timestamps with the first timestamp respectively.

Step S340: Determine the real scene image corresponding to the second time stamp with the stamp time closest to the first time stamp among the plurality of second time stamps as the intersection navigation image.

For example, when the first timestamp is 1/10/14:00 (indicating 14:00 on January 10), and the second timestamps of the multiple real-life images of the intersection sent by the server 104 to the terminal device 102 are timestamp mark 1: 1/10/12:00; timestamp mark 2: 1/10/12:30; and timestamp mark 3: 1/10/13:05, since timestamp marks 1-3 are all earlier than the first timestamp, the real-life image corresponding to timestamp mark 3 whose stamp time is closest to the first timestamp is selected as the intersection navigation image of the intersection.

In other embodiments, determining whether there is an intersection navigation image at the intersection further includes the following steps:

When the vehicle has not passed the intersection and a second time stamp later than the first time stamp exists in the plurality of second time stamps, the real scene image corresponding to the second time stamp with the latest time in the plurality of second time stamps is confirmed as the intersection navigation image.

For example, when the first timestamp is 1/10/14:00 (indicating 14:00 on January 10th), and the multiple second timestamps include timestamp mark 1: 1/10/12:00; timestamp mark 2: 1/10/14:02; and timestamp mark 3: 1/10/14:05, the real-life image corresponding to timestamp mark 3 is selected as the current intersection navigation image.

In some embodiments, after server 104 (terminal device 102) acquires multiple real-world images, it also filters the real-world images based on the current weather and lighting conditions at the intersection (e.g., daytime or nighttime). For example, when vehicle 101 passes through the intersection on a clear day, server 104 (terminal device 102) prioritizes real-world images recorded during clear daytime as the intersection navigation image.

In some embodiments, after the server 104 (terminal device 102) obtains multiple real-world images, it further categorizes the real-world images based on factors such as weather conditions or lighting conditions in the real-world images. In this way, the user can choose to display the intersection navigation images under different weather conditions or lighting conditions.

In this way, by executing the above steps, the terminal device 102 can display the intersection navigation image, thereby providing the user with better navigation services and better prompting the current traffic condition information of the intersection.

Continuing with FIG. 7 , in some embodiments, after receiving a request to view any intersection in the navigation route, the navigation method further includes the following sub-steps:

Step S410: Divide each route between adjacent intersections in the navigation route into a route segment to obtain at least one route segment.

For example, in one embodiment, starting from the intersection where the view request is received, the route between each two adjacent intersections in the navigation route is divided into a route section.

Step S420: Obtain the timestamp of when the check request for the intersection is received and record it as the first timestamp.

Step S430: Acquire a plurality of real-scene images including the path, and each real-scene image including the path is also marked with a start timestamp, which is recorded as a third timestamp.

Specifically, in step S430, the terminal device 102 sends the path information divided according to the navigation route to the server 104. The path information includes the number of each path. After receiving the path information from the terminal device 102, the server 104 filters and captures the real-life images in the real-life image database to generate a plurality of real-life images corresponding to the paths. Each real-life image includes the corresponding path number information and a start timestamp of the starting point of the corresponding path, which is recorded as a third timestamp. The server 104 also sends the generated plurality of real-life images corresponding to the paths to the terminal device 102. In this way, the terminal device 102 can identify the real scene image corresponding to each path according to the path number information.

It is understood that when the server 104 determines that the vehicle 101 where the terminal device 102 is located has not yet passed the corresponding path based on the heartbeat signal, the server 104 also updates the real scene image including the path at any time. In this way, each path has at least one corresponding real scene image.

Step S440: For each route, compare the plurality of third timestamps with the first timestamp. If a third timestamp exists in the plurality of third timestamps that is later than the first timestamp, determine the real-life image corresponding to the third timestamp with the latest time among the plurality of third timestamps as the navigation image corresponding to the intersection of the route. If a third timestamp does not exist in the plurality of third timestamps that is later than the first timestamp, determine the real-life image corresponding to the third timestamp closest to the first timestamp among the plurality of third timestamps as the navigation image corresponding to the intersection of the route.

In this way, according to the navigation route, the navigation images of the intersections corresponding to the route are displayed in sequence, so that real-life navigation of the entire navigation route can be provided.

In some embodiments, the human-computer interaction interface of the terminal device 102 further displays a button for exiting the real-scene navigation mode, so that the user can exit the real-scene navigation mode.

In this way, by executing the above steps S410 to S440, when a user issues a view request for any intersection of the navigation route, the real-life navigation images of all paths in the subsequent navigation route are automatically displayed, thereby providing the user with better navigation services.

30。8 , the second embodiment of the present application further provides a navigation device 100 that can be applied to a vehicle 101 .
