Abstract

An antenna for transmitting and receiving high frequency radio waves such as in mobile telephony includes a carrier element (1), an electrically conducting pattern arranged on the carrier element or in the surface region thereof so that the electrically conducting pattern forms stripshaped antenna conductors (3', 3") and a flexible connection line (33) electrically coupled to the antenna conductors. An electrically conducting coupling area (9) is directly connected to each antenna conductor and is also placed on or in the carrier element. A connector is mounted to the connection line and includes electrically conducting plates (31) that are directly connected to the connection line and cooperate with the electrically conducting coupling areas of the antenna conductors so that capacitors for coupling signals between the antenna and the connection line are formed. Hence, a simple electric connection between the antenna and the connection line is obtained. The carrier element can be stripshaped and flexible and can be easily mounted at a suitable place for achieving a good transmission/reception. Also the connection line can be stripshaped and designed in a way similar to that of the antenna. Both the antenna and the connection line can be provided as a plurality of identical objects rolled up to form rolls to give e.g. a disposable antenna and connection line. The antenna can also be designed to be folded along a longitudinal line so that it can handled in the same way as a book-mark.
