Abstract

The present invention discloses a device and a method for realizing broadcast service protection in an optical transport network and relates to the field of optical transfer communications. A control unit of the device is configured to issue a multicast service configuration and a multicast protection configuration to each service board, and issue the multicast protection configuration to a protection switching processing unit. The protection switching processing unit completes corresponding protection configuration after receiving the multicast protection configuration, and a switching, clearing switching, or maintaining command is transmitted to each service board according to a real-time determination of operation and protection channel service signals. Each service board completes corresponding service configuration and protection configuration after receiving the multicast service configuration and the multicast protection configuration and performs a corresponding protection operation after receiving the command transmitted by the protection switching processing unit. The present invention can realize broadcast service protection of various network types of optical transport networks, reduce the network costs of optical transport networks, improve network robustness, and increase network protection flexibility without increasing device costs.
