A SATELLITE MULTIMEDIA SERVICE SYSTEM (100, 110) PROVIDES SATELLITE INTERNET SERVICE, MULTIPOINT DATA DISTRIBUTION SERVICE AND VIDEO AND AUDIO TRANSMISSION SERVICE. THE SATELLITE MULTIMEDIA SERVICE SYSTEM (100, 110) COMPRISES A SATELLITE (1), A TERMINAL RESOURCE PROVIDER (7), AN INTERNET RESOURCE PROVIDER (18), A SATELLITE MULTIMEDIA GATEWAY (8), A SATELLITE ANTENNA (9) AND A RECEIVER (2). THE TERMINAL RESOURCE PROVIDER (7) APPLIES A SERVICE REQUEST RECEIVED FROM A MULTIPLE NUMBER OF USERS TO A DEDICATED LINE (20). THE INTERNET RESOURCE PROVIDER (18) CHECKS WHETHER OR NOT THE USER IS ELIGIBLE AND SELECTIVELY PERFORMS ONE OF RETRIEVINC REQUESTED INFORMATION THEREIN AND RECEIVING THE REQUESTED INFORMATION FROM AN INTERNET INFORMATION PROVIDER, IF THE SERVICE REQUEST IS THE SATELLITE INTERNET SERVICE. THE SATELLITE MULTIMEDIA GATEWAY (8) RECEIVES THE REQUESTED INFORMATION FROM ONE OF THE INTERNET RESOURCE PROVIDER (18), A MULTIPOINT INFORMATION PROVIDER (19) AND A VIDEO AND AUDIO PROVIDER ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE REQUEST AND CONVERTS THE RECEIVED INFORMATION TO A SATELLITE SIGNAL HAVING A PREDETERMINED FORMAT FOR SATELLITE COMMUNICATION. THE SATELLITE ANTENNA (9) TRANSMITS THE SATELLITE SIGNAL TO THE SATELLITE (1). AND THE RECEIVER (2) RECEIVES THE SATELLITE SIGNAL FROM THE SATELLITE (1). (FIG.2)
