Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain viewing of a desired teletext for a viewer at the same time of TV broadcast by outputting a pattern data to a display device when a scanned position reaches a position in a display area of a teletext and outputting a TV broadcast onto the display device when the scanned position holds other position in selecting the window display mode. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor 3, in case of the window display mode, converts a code data in the preset window area into a pattern data among code data stored in a working memory 5 and stores it to a memory area corresponding to the window area on a display memory 10. A display control circuit 9, in case of the display mode, selects a video signal VID of an incoming TV broadcast at the outside of the window area. Then a pattern data stored in the display memory 10 is read to the window area and a video signal converted into an analog signal is selected and outputted. Then a teletext is displayed by the window display mode in addition to the normal display mode and the viewer can view both the TV broadcast and the teletext at the same time.
