Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable magnetization in real time without mistaking magnetization polarity on a magneto-optical disk by adding an optical pickup and reading out device to the titled device to read out the information of an administration identifying track and to determine the magnetization polarity and magnetizing the magneto-optical disk. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical disk 1 having the administration identifying track to be magnetized is rotated by a spindle motor 2. The optical pickup 3 reads out an administration identifying signal (a) from the administration identifying track of the magneto-optical disk 1 to be magnetized. The reading out device 4 reads out the demagnetizing polarity information of the magneto- optical disk 1 to be magnetized in accordance with the administration identifying signal (a) from the optical pickup 3, determines the magnetization polarity and delivers the magnetization polarity signal (b) to a power source 5 for magnification. The magneto-optical disk 1 is then magnetized by passing the magnetization current (c). The magnetization is thereby executed in the real time without erroneously mounting the mounting surface of the magneto-optical disk 1 and magnetizing the same to the reverse polarity.
