Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform not only laser treatment but also the cooling and washing of the affected part incident thereto, in a dental or medical laser irradiation apparatus, by injecting water or gas from the leading end of a nozzle to cool and wash an objective region such as the affected part or to cool a beam guide body. CONSTITUTION:A mode changing over operating switch 20 is pushed to select a water feed mode and a laser irradiation mode. Water is fed to a series of water feed pipelines 4 through a water feed pipeline 7 and injected from the leading end of an irradiation nozzle 3 to develop the function of a water gun. A parallelly provided operating lever 15 is pushed simultaneously to inject air from the leading end of the irradiation nozzle 3 to develop the function as a spray gun for a mixture of water and air. When a laser irradiation switch 17 is turned ON, a semiconductor laser generator 2 is turned ON to emit laser beam. The laser beam is converged to and introduced into the base end part of a beam guide body 32 through an optical lens 2B and an axial space 3B to be transmitted to the leading end of the irradiation nozzle 3 through the beam guide body 32 and emitted from the leading surface 32A of said beam guide body 32 to perform predetermined laser irradiation treatment.
