Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the transmission amount of a drug without generating skin disorder in the iontophoresis of a percutaneous drug admistering method, by applying specific voltage to the skin for a specified time. CONSTITUTION:The voltage applied to the skin is 5-20V but said voltage is pref. allowed to drop in actual at the point of time when a current becomes 1mA/cm<2>. Pref. voltage lowering the electric resistance of the skin without generating skin disorder such as a burn is 7-12V and the applying time thereof is 1-60 sect and especially pref., voltage of 10V is applied for 5sec. In iontophoresis, it is necessary to allow a constant current to flow to the skin in order to obtain the effective transmission amount of a drug and the constant current is obtained by lowering the electric resistance of the skin at first and subsequently allowing voltage to drop to apply current supply voltage of 1-5V, pref., 2-3V and, by this method, a dummy constant current of 0.1-1mA/cm<2> can be allowed to flow to the electrode of iontophoresis. Since the electric resistance of the skin is lowered in spite of this low voltage, the constant current can be allowed to flow to the skin.
