Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of suspended mist of a termite-controlling liquid and to ensure the safety of operator even in the case of using an organophosphorus chemical, by compounding the controlling liquid with a highly water-absorbing resin in the spraying of the liquid. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous dispersion of a termite-controlling agent containing a termite-controlling agent such as chloropyrifos and a highly water-absorbing resin such as acrylic acid-vinyl alcohol copolymer is sprayed preferably with a power sprayer. The content of the highly water-absorbing resin in the liquid is usually <=1wt%. The agent can be applied in thickened state within a short time after mixing the termite-controlling agent with the highly water-absorbing resin. The components can be mixed with each other easily in site in high workability. The coagulum is soft, even if any, and the liquid can be applied without causing troubles such as nozzle clogging, etc. The part treated with said liquid is resistant to become moldy. The present process is suitable for the termite-controlling method with an organophosphorus chemical having strong acute toxicity and supposed to be used in increased amount in the future.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a termite control construction method, and more specifically, when spraying a termite control chemical solution (hereinafter referred to as the chemical solution), the generation of floating mist of the chemical solution is prevented, thereby ensuring the safety of workers. This article relates to a construction method for termite control.

In particular, recently the use of chlordane-based chemicals, which have traditionally been used as termite control chemicals, has been banned, so organophosphorus-based chemicals are being used as a substitute, but organophosphorus-based chemicals are acutely toxic. Because of its strong strength, when using it, it is essential to ensure the safety of workers from the above-mentioned floating mist of the chemical solution.

One method of preventing the generation of floating mist from such chemical solutions is to thicken the chemical solution and increase the size of the particles ejected from the spray nozzle. In the case of a mold, a water-soluble thickener such as starch, CMC, MC1PVA, etc. is added to the mold to thicken the chemical solution.

The present inventor uses a water-dispersible chemical solution as described above to prevent the generation of floating mist of the chemical solution when spraying the chemical solution, and ensures worker safety even when an organic phosphorus-based chemical is used as a termite control agent. As a result of extensive research on possible termite control construction methods, we found that a method of spraying a water-dispersible termite control solution containing a termite control agent and a super absorbent resin not only suppresses the generation of floating mist of the chemical solution during spraying, but also The following advantages are provided: (A) Even if the content of the superabsorbent resin is small, a thickening effect can be obtained.

The water-dispersible termite control chemical solution of the present invention is prepared by mixing and dispersing the termite control agent as described above and a super absorbent resin in an aqueous medium. One method is to first obtain a stock solution by mixing and dispersing termite control chemicals, emulsifiers, superabsorbent resins, dispersants, solvents, etc., and then use this stock solution at the time of use (during spraying) to adjust the concentration of termite control chemicals to an appropriate level.
