った。[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a safety device that is attached to an electric scalpel and constantly detects the optimum load impedance. Conventionally, many electric scalpels have a return electrode at ground potential, which makes it difficult to perform electric scalpels. When using a surgical monitor such as an electrocardiograph, if there is a leakage current in the electrode of the monitor, this current will form a circuit that flows from the return electrode to the ground, causing a dangerous current to flow to the patient, resulting in an electric shock or serious injury to the patient. This was extremely inappropriate and could cause accidents. However, recently this has been improved, and as shown in Fig. 1, a structure in which the current flowing from the knife tip a does not pass through the counter electrode is often used.
The high frequency shunt caused by lite does not increase, and in addition, the return electrode plate does not fall off or peel off, and AC coupling type mats that always have a low current density are now used, making it easier to handle low frequency currents. It is difficult to pass through, and direct current does not pass through it at all, significantly reducing stain accidents.

There was a strong desire to ensure the most reliable and safe operation possible.

A detector 8 is provided coaxially with the detector, and a comparator 9 compares the load impedance obtained from this detector with the impedance obtained from the detector, and this comparison determines whether the load impedance is at the upper or lower limit of the optimal value. An alarm/output stop device 10 is provided which issues an alarm or stops the output current when the output current is above or below the current level. Further, if necessary, a Schmitt circuit 11 can be inserted in the front stage of the alarm/output stop device to keep the alarm part of the device in operation until it is reset.

This is an extremely useful invention that significantly increases the safety of electric scalpels used for incision, coagulation, or a combination thereof.
