Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily recognize that an energy waste preventing circuit is operated, by forcibly controlling the operation of a driving circuit of a numerical display body, by an output from a detecting circuit for detecting the operation of the waste preventing circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a waste preventing circuit 10 is operated, a controlling circuit 12 is operated through an operation detecting circuit 11, and an output signal is generated. As a result, the controlling circuit 12 controls an operation of a driving circuit 8 of a numerical display body 7. This control of the driving circuit 8 by the controlling circuit 12 becomes control for executing an alphabetic display whatever display the numerical display displayed before that time may be. For instance, a state displaying 400 ASA sensitivity value is forcibly switched to alphabetic display of ''OFF''. Accordingly, a user can recognize easily that the energy waste preventing circuit is operated, by seeing the alphabetic character of ''OFF''.

On the other hand, although not shown in the strobe device disclosed in the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 56-4133, the purpose of conventional strobe devices is to completely prevent energy waste or to prevent forgetting to turn off the power switch. Various configurations have been proposed or put into practical use.

However, even with the method of measuring the operation of the converter circuit described above, although it is certainly superior in terms of cost, it is easy to confirm that the converter circuit has stopped oscillating after a predetermined period of time has elapsed. Conventionally, if the converter circuit stops operating when the power switch is turned on, there is no countermeasure such as actively operating some kind of display system. Ta.

The control (goods) of the drive circuit 8 by this control (goods) circuit 12 is as follows:
It takes precedence over the control operation of the numeric display body 7 by the drive circuit 8 at rt and t, that is, it causes alphabetic characters to be displayed no matter what numeric display was being displayed until then. It becomes a compulsory system (goods). To give a concrete example, the second
As shown in Figures (A) and (B), for example, the ASA sensitivity value "400" is displayed by the 3-digit, 7-segment number display 7 (A), which is forcibly shown in Figure (B). [
The control operation is similar to switching to an alphabetic display of OF FJ.

As mentioned above, the present invention uses a numeric display in the lower three-digit segment to display film sensitivity, etc., and also sets the oscillation operation of the DC-DC converter circuit under predetermined conditions to prevent energy wastage. In a strobe device that has a waste prevention circuit that forcibly maintains the stop state after the battery is filled, the output from the detection circuit that detects the operation of the waste prevention circuit causes It is characterized by forcing the drive circuit of the 7-segment numeric display to be in operation so that it can be used as an alphabetic character display, and for this purpose, no special display system is added. Therefore, it is possible to provide a strobe device having the effect of easily notifying that the energy waste prevention circuit has been activated.
