Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent colors from mixing with each other and ink from diffusing, between adjacent orifices by a method wherein, between adjacent orifices which discharge ink, grooves are provided which partitions the discharge surfaces of said orifices to comprise an ink jet recording head. CONSTITUTION:Between the orifices 15a1, 15b2, etc. which discharge ink different in color and lie adjacent to each other, grooves 16 is provided by which the discharge surfaces of both orifices are separated. These grooves 16 can be manufactured by any method but a mechanical cutting method is most desirable. Under each groove 16 a gutter 17 is disposed for recovering the ink and the ink is discharged from a discharge pipe 18 to the outside of the head. The inks of different colors which flow out around the multiorifice by means of each groove accumulate at the grooves 16, drops from the lower parts of the grooves into the gutter 17 but does not diffuse. Each orifice of the multiorifce is isolated so that mixing of colors can be prevented.
