Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid overhating and obtain a perfect close contact condition with excellent appearance by a method wherein a heat-shrinkable tube is fitted over the periphery of an object, a heat-resisting plastic tape is wound around the tube, and then the tube is heated to shrink gradually from the central part to the ends of the object. CONSTITUTION:The heat-shrinkable tube 3 is fitted over a connecting part 2 of rubber or plastic insulted cables 1, 1', and the heat-resisting plastic tape 4 is wound around the surface of the tube 3. Then, a split metallic pipe 6 is fitted on the outside of the wound tape 4, with a heater 5 densely wound at the central part and more coarsely wound at a part nearer to the ends, and heat-shielding layer 7, 7' are provided at both the ends. The tube 3 is heated by the heater 5 through the layer of the plastic tape 4, thereby shrinking the tube 3 gradually from the central part to the ends.
