Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An aminoglycoside derivative of formula I (R1 is OH or amino; R2 is H or OH; R3 is hydroxymethyl or carbamoyloxymethyl), and its salt.
EXAMPLE: O-[3-Amino-3-deoxy-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)]-O-[2, 6-diamino-2, 3, 4, 6-tetradeoxy-α-D-glycero-hex-4-enopyranosyl-(1→4)]-2-deoxy-streptamine.
USE: Medicine especially effective to resistant microorganisms. Antibiotic agent. Disinfectant.
PROCESS: The objective compound I can be prepared by protecting the functional groups of a compound II(A is 2-deoxystreptamine part of an aminoglycoside) except the 6'-amino group, reacting the protected compound with a carbonyl compound, and subjecting the product successively to the prototoropy rearrangement, the acid hydrolysis, the dehydration, and the reductive amination at the aldehyde group.
