Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a vapor flow in a constant direction without company with splashes by a method wherein an evporation pipe group is placed in a high-temperature gas flow, a condensation pipe group is placed in a low-temperature gas flow, the pipe groups are connected together to form a closed container, and a liquid having a vapor pressure between the boiling points of both gases is sealed in the container.
CONSTITUTION: An evaporation pipe group 1 and a condensation pipe group 3 are placed respectively in a high-temperature gas duct 2 and a low-temperature gas duct 4. Upper headers 1b, 3b for the pipe groups 1, 3 are connected with each other by a pipe 6, and lower headers 1a, 3a are connected with each other by a pipe 7, with the head H between the headers 1a and 3a being such that a liquid to be sealed can flow. A working liquid having a vapor pressure between the boiling point of both gases is sealed in the container composed of the pipes. The liquid may be water, alcohol, or the like. The working liquid flows in the direction of the arrows constantly, without company with splashes. Pipe diameter can be reduced without any restriction on vapor flow rate.
