Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the retrieval speed by users and to avoid out of retrieval, by providing the means informing the users which detects the presence of information stored relating to input word other than the information outputted at present.
CONSTITUTION: The character code corresponding to the inputted word from the character key 1 is outputted from the key encoder circuit 8, and the character code outputted is stored in the register 9 for input word memory in the order of output. Further, the work information memory section 10 stores index word, translated word, part of speech, variation word and second translation. When the Japanese translation indication key 3 and English translation indication key 4 are operated, the head address designation content of the memory section 10 is set to the address register 11, the retrieval circuit 15 compares the head address with the head character code of word inputted to the register 9, and if disagreement, the next address is retrieved with the address control circuit 13 continuously after that and it is displayed on the display section 5.
