Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable smooth opening and closing of lid and to attach and detach the right and left lids promptly and accurately, by constructing the pressure vessel in horizontal form and setting the pressure lids on a carriage which moves laterally.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure vessel consists of a vessel 4 and pressure lids 5, 5', which are mounted on carriages 2, 2' so as to be moved together with the carriages. The material being tested 1, is held by a chucking device 3 which is installed on the carriage 2, and the lid 5 is mounted on the same carriage 2. Thus, the opening and closing of the pressure lid and the insertion and removal of the material being tested may be performed simultaneously. Split-in-two clamp devices 6, 6' are designed to grasp the selvages 5a, 5'a of the lids 5, 5' and the vessel 4 perfectly at the same time. In addition, in order to seal the vessel, U-shaped packing is funished, and a replaceable packing holder 8 which can be replaced according to the difference in the outside diameter of the material being tested is also incorporated.
