Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate and ensure the interchange from the automatic focusing operation to the manual focusing operation by maing it possible to detect the focal point of the optical system of a camera only when the range is to be set.
CONSTITUTION: Upon the automatic focusing operation, a ball is pushed into a notch 1a to fix a range finding ring 1 so that a range adjusting member 6 is turned through a charge member 20, which is made coactive with a film winding lever 28, and through a pin 24 thereby to effect the charge with a spring 5. The member 6 has its projection 6a abutting against the leading end portion 9a of a fixing lever 9. The retention of the member 6 is released by the lever 9 when a shutter button 29 is depressed so that the lens is moved to effect the automatic focusing operation in accordance with the found range by the member 6 through an automatic detecting circuit which is then energized. On the other hand, if an interchanging switch 12 is shifted to the automatic focusing operation, the retention of the member 6 by the lever 9 is not accomplished so that the lens is moved in response to the range finding operation which is effected by the manual rotations of the member 6. As a result, so long as the range is not found, the focusing operation is not effected for both the automatic and manual operations. During the automatic focusing operation, the interchange to the automatic one can be effected to correct the focusing operation.
