Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an inverter in which only an AC component is shared by a current balancer by a method wherein AC output terminals of unit inverters are connected in parallel via a series circuit which is composed of the current balancer and of a capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit is constituted of current balancers 4, 5 and of capacitors 7, 8, 9, 10. Consequently, even when output voltages of unit inverters 2, 3 which are connected in parallel with the series circuit contain a DC component due to an irregularity in semiconductor switching elements for the current balancers 4, 5, the DC component is shared wholly by the capacitors 7 to 10, and only an AC component is applied to the current balancers 4, 5. Thereby, the DC biased magnetization of the current balancers 4, 5 can be prevented, and a balancer function is not spoiled.

2. Description of the Related Art It is widely practiced to connect a plurality of unit inverters in parallel to increase the capacity of an inverter device. FIG. 3 shows a main configuration of an inverter device using a conventional parallel connection system. 1 is a DC power source, 2 and 3 are unit inverters each composed of a semiconductor switching element, 4 and 5 are current balancers, 6 is a load.

Here, auxiliary circuits such as a gate drive circuit and a snubber circuit of the unit inverter are omitted because they are not related to the gist of the present invention, and an explanation of their operation is also omitted because this type of inverter device is commonly used. To do. The current balancers 4, 5 are transformers (reactors) with a center tap, which are core-coupled, and are generally called current balancers.

Usually, the semiconductor switching elements forming the main circuit structure of the unit inverter have variations in turn-on time, turn-off time, and current-voltage characteristics.
Even if the AC outputs of the unit inverters are directly connected in parallel, it is difficult to balance the current, the device capacity cannot be increased, and the elements may be damaged.

Therefore, parallel connection is made through a current balancer, and the current is balanced by the action of the transformer. Therefore, the current balancers 4 and 5 often have iron cores in order to make the transformer function effective.

However, as described above, the output voltage of the unit inverter includes a DC component due to variations in the turn-on and turn-off times of the element and the forward drop voltage. For this reason, the current balancer is subject to DC bias magnetism, and the function as the balancer is impaired. Further, in the case of a current balancer that does not saturate even when subjected to such a DC bias, the external dimensions and weight are large, which is not suitable for practical use.

As described above, the series circuit of the current balancers 4 and 5 and the capacitors 7, 8, 9 and 10 is configured, and the output voltage of the unit inverters 2 and 3 includes the DC component generated by the above-mentioned variation among the elements. However, all the DC components are shared by the capacitors 7 to 10, so that only the AC components are applied to the current balancers 4 and 5. Therefore, the current balancer will not be saturated by receiving DC bias, and the balancer function will not be impaired.

In this example, an example of a two-winding transformer (reactor) sharing an iron core is shown as a current balancer, but an iron core having an independent core for each winding, that is, a reactor with an iron core also has a current balancer function. However, it goes without saying that the present invention is also applicable to a parallel connection system using such a reactor with an iron core. Further, if the load 6 includes a capacitor component, not all of the capacitors 7, 8, 9, 10 are required, and it is clear that the capacitors 9, 10 can be omitted if there are the capacitors 7, 8, for example. .

Further, when it is applied to a high frequency inverter, especially a high frequency inverter for induction heating, the practical effect is more remarkable. 2 is similar to FIG. 1 for explaining another embodiment of the present invention, and 60 is a load. Here, the load 60 is shown by a matching circuit (power factor improving capacitor) in induction heating and an equivalent circuit showing the heating coil and the object to be heated, 61 is a power factor improving capacitor, 62 is a heating coil,
63 is an object to be heated.

In induction heating, the end of the heating coil 62 generally has an extremely low power factor, and the power factor improving capacitor 61 is originally required. Therefore, even if some or all of the power factor improving capacitors 61 in FIG. 2 are distributed and arranged as the capacitors 7, 8, 9, and 10 at the AC output terminals of the unit inverters 2 and 3, the power factor improving effect can be obtained. There is no change.

With such a configuration, a capacitor is originally required for induction heating, it is not necessary to consider the output voltage drop even if a capacitor is connected to the AC output of the unit inverter, and a new capacitor capacity (KVA) is required.
Does not increase, and it is possible to obtain both the effects of preventing DC bias magnetization of the current balancer and improving the power factor. Moreover, the area that contributes externally and economically is extremely large.
In addition, although the case where the number of unit inverters is two is described for the sake of convenience of the description, it goes without saying that the present invention can be applied to a parallel connection system with more units.
