くして慣性モーメントを高めた本体部20を形成してあ
る。本体部20の中凹み41の部分の少なくともインパ
クト面3のスィートスポット30の裏面にヒール5及び
トウ6に使用される材料よりも比重が小さい材料から成
るバック部21を設けてある。本体部20を形成する材
料としては、軟鉄,ステンレススチール,チタン合金,
ベリリウムカッパ等の材料が好適であり、バック部21
としては本体部20に使用した材料よりも比重の小さい
材料、例えば本体部20を軟鉄やステンレススチールあ
るいはベリリウムカッパで形成した場合には、チタン合
金やアルミニウム合金あるいはマグネシウム合金さらに
は合成樹脂材料等が好適である。また、合金に限らずチ
タン等の金属そのものを使用することも勿論可能であ
る。本体部20が軟鉄やステンレススチールの場合、バ
ック部21の材料としてはチタンやアルミニウムが好適
である。本体部20を形成する材料の比重が7.0〜
9.0とすれば、バック部21に使用する材料としては
比重が1.0〜7.0のものが好ましい。バック部21
に使用する材料のより好ましい比重は、1.5〜5.0
