FIG. 1 shows a charging device for an object to be charged according to the present invention. The charging device includes a detecting means 2, a relay switch 3 and an electrode 4 in a charger 1. In addition, in this charging device, when the handy terminal 5 which is the object to be charged is correctly set in the charger 1, the circuit between the power supply 6 and the electrode 4 is closed and the electrode 4 is connected to the handy terminal 5. The rechargeable battery 8 is mechanically brought into contact with the provided electrode 7 so that the rechargeable battery 8 can pass through the electrodes 4, 7.
Is configured to charge automatically. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2, the detecting means 2 inserts the housing 5A of the handy terminal 5 into the insertion hole 1A of the charger 1, and the electrode 7 provided on the handy terminal 5 is connected to the charger 1.
This state (hereinafter referred to as a normal state) is detected when the apparatus is properly placed so as to come into contact with the electrode 4 of No. 3, and has the following mechanical configuration.
That is, the detecting means 2 of this embodiment includes the push pin 4 which also serves as the electrode 4, the spring 21 arranged in the slide chamber 1B which pushes up the push pin 4 by the elastic force, and the push pin 4. It comprises a light shielding plate 22A protruding from a slide plate 22 fixed to the lower part of a slide shaft 4A extending to the lower part, and a photoelectric switch 23.

な手段を使用してもよい。The photoelectric switch 3 includes a light emitting portion 23A (see FIG. 4) using LEDs or the like provided on the inner surfaces of the base 24 having a substantially U shape facing each other. It comprises a light receiving section 23B (see FIG. 4) using an optical sensor or the like for outputting a predetermined detection signal to the relay switch 3 to be described. In the photoelectric switch 3, when the handy terminal 5 is normally placed in the insertion hole 1A, a space portion 23C (hereinafter referred to as an optical path) between the light emitting portion 23A and the light receiving portion 23B shown in FIG. The light shielding plate 22A is adapted to escape from the portion 23C). The relay switch 3 outputs a detection signal from the photoelectric switch 23 of the detecting means 2 while the handy terminal 5 is normally placed in the insertion hole 1A, and the relay switch 3 inputs the detection signal. It is configured to keep the circuit between the power source 6 and the electrode 4 closed. In addition,
The relay switch 3 is mounted on a printed board 9 on which a base 24 to which a photoelectric switch 23 is attached is fixed. Further, although the photoelectric switch and the relay switch are combined in this embodiment, the invention is not particularly limited to this, and mechanical means such as a micro switch may be used.

Since the light from 23A is blocked, the photoelectric switch 23 does not output a detection signal. As a result, the relay switch 3 does not operate, and the circuit between the power source 6 and the electrode 4 is always open, so that no voltage is applied to the electrode 4. Also, Handy Terminal 5
4 is placed in the insertion hole 1A, the push pin 4 and the slide shaft 4A are lowered against the elastic force of the spring 21 due to the weight of the handy terminal 5 as shown in FIG. Since the slide plate 22 and the light blocking plate 22A fixed to this move downward from the optical path portion 23C as shown in FIG. 4, the light emitted from the light emitting portion 23A is received by the light receiving portion 23B.
And enters a predetermined detection signal. As a result, while the relay switch 3 receiving the detection signal is inputting the signal, the previous circuit is automatically closed to perform charging.

The circuit between the power source on the charger side and the rechargeable battery on the charger side is automatically closed to establish electrical continuity between them, and the object to be charged is in physical contact with the charger. Since the charging operation is automatically performed only in the case of, it is possible to prevent troubles such as short-circuiting of the electrodes of the charger and destruction of internal parts during non-charge.
