Abstract

PURPOSE: To quickly fill or evacuate a gas or the like into a container by forming projections, which are deformable or breakable by the pressing force of a piston rod, on a valve member having a pin, which upwardly and downwardly slides within a valve body of a precompression type pump, and presses and closes a valve seat at the end of the piston rod. CONSTITUTION: In the precompression type pump having the piston rod 5, which is upwardly and downwardly slidable within the valve body 1, and the valve member 8, a supply channel 6 is formed inside the piston rod 5 and the valve seat 7 is formed around the axis line at the bottom end thereof. In addition, the valve member 8 has the pin 9 at the top which is designed to be energized, thus held pressed against the valve seat 7 by a spring 10 located at the lower part. Further, the projections 15, which are deformable or breakable when the pressing force is applied on the valve member 8, are arranged and these projections 15 hold the valve open so long as the projections 15 are not deformed or broken. Further, once the projections 15 are deformed or broken by the pressing force of the piston rod 5, the pin 9 of the valve becomes engaged with the valve seat 7 at the center of the piston, bringing a hermetically sealded state, thus eliminating the need of applying more pressure than that on the rod 5.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This term is used broadly to refer to an assembly consisting of a pump mounted on a container. The present invention more particularly includes:
This kind of atomizing device is concerned with a spraying device in which the pump is a precompression type pump having a twenty-one dollar valve pressed by a spring against a valve seat formed on the axis of the supply piston, and the characteristics of the spring determine the degree of precompression. are doing. An example of such a pump is described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,025,046 and French Patent No. 2,305,241.

In such cases, a gas, such as nitrogen gas, is pressurized into the container (the container is not completely filled with the substance to be sprayed, leaving room for the gas). As the material is sprayed, the nitrogen expands to occupy the space left behind. This prevents air from entering the container. In addition to this, pump starting and filling is enhanced. The difficulty lies in injecting nitrogen gas after filling the container with the spray liquid and crimping the pump to the container.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to provide a simple means for rapidly filling and emptying a container in which a precompression pump is crimped with gas or liquid. The idea is that the pump is equipped with a device that allows a fluid (gas, liquid, paste, etc.) to flow from the outside to the inside of the container, or from the inside to the outside, and a piston actuates the passage used for this purpose. In the first case or other external effects? Is it permanent in any case? The purpose is to close this.

Preferably, the valve member is a molded plastic material and the projection is a lug integrally molded therewith. These lugs are positioned to oppose the abutment of the valve member against a valve seat formed in the piston. These lugs are sized to withstand a predetermined force, for example 1.5 kg, but will break or become permanently deformed if a greater force is applied, for example 2.5 kFl or more.

The precompression pump shown in FIG. 1 includes a pump body I suitable for being fixed with a base 2 to the neck of a container (not shown). The cap 2 also serves to crimp the end plate 3 onto the pump body l. The pump body l and end plate 3 are made of a plastics material selected to provide a good seal. The pump also includes a piston 4 controlled by a hollow rod 5. The hollow rod 5 has a feed channel 6 inside it. A hollow rod 5 passes through the end plate 3 and allows the piston to be controlled from the outside. The supply channel 6 opens into the valve body in the center of the piston by forming a valve seat 7. A valve member 8 is slidably mounted within the valve body. At the top end there is a pin 9 which is pressed against the valve seat 7 in a sealing relationship. Spring 10 urges valve member 8 upwardly to close the valve. This spring lO also acts as a return spring for the piston. The valve member has a downwardly directed skirt portion 11 which, when the valve member moves downwardly, covers a cylinder 12 fixed to the valve body, thereby closing the pump chamber when the piston is depressed.

Such pumps themselves are well known, especially from the prior patents mentioned above. Except for the spring and the base, all components are made of plastic materials. The plastic material used for each of these parts is selected to provide the desired degree of sealing and sliding properties.

In the resting state, the structure is in the equilibrium position shown in FIG. For example, the pump may be considered to be crimped onto the container after it has partially filled the container. Gas is then injected into the container, at which time the valve member must be open. It is in fact impossible to open the valve member simply by increasing the pressure of the gas to be admitted into the supply channel. This is because the cross-sectional area of the supply channel 6 is very small (approximately 1 square millimeter), while the corresponding gas pressure is several hundred bars, which means that the pressure at which the gas has to enter the container cannot be more than a few bars. This is because it is inappropriate to use because it does not.

This results in the use of a needle that can be inserted into the supply channel 6 in order to lift the pin 9 from its valve seat prior to gas injection. A suitable machine for carrying out this needle insertion operation is complex and expensive.

In one embodiment according to the invention, the valve member 8 has a lug 15
(Fig. 2) and is integrally molded. In their rest position, these lugs 15 hold the pin 9 away from its valve seat without fitting the skirt portion 11 over the cylinder 12 and closing it. In this manner, the condition shown in FIG. 2 facilitates the introduction of fluid into the container.

In fact, the arrangement provided by these lugs not only allows liquid to be injected into the container, but also allows liquid to be removed from it. For example, the air can be evacuated from a flexible container and only the liquid or paste can be injected in the absence of air, or the residual air in the container can be sucked out after filling with liquid and replaced with another gas, such as nitrogen gas. You can put it in.

After filling or some other finishing operations, the lug 15 is deformed or broken. This is skirt part 11
until the bottom edge 11a of the cylinder 12 (FIG. 3) reaches the bottom of the circular groove surrounding the base of the cylinder 12 (FIG. This is accomplished by pressing the piston rod 5 into the container until it abuts the container. This increased pressure exerts on the lug, causing it to break or become permanently deformed, so that the valve pin 9 is forced into the central valve seat 7 of the piston.
This results in a sealing relationship. After this, no further pressure needs to be applied to the rod 5 and the structure returns to its rest position.
The valve is closed.
