1 is called a mold, and 2 is called a tire part. This tire part is thickly reinforced in order to support the mold 1 and give rotation to the mold 1 by the rollers 5. 6 is a bearing, 7 is a drive motor, and 3
is the sand mold, and 4 is the part that will become the product. 8 is mold 1
These are rollers for restraining the movement of the tire portion 2 in the axial direction. 9 is an end plate that has the function of reinforcing the sand mold, preventing molten metal from flowing out, and retaining heat. 10 is a toy for guiding the molten metal into the mold, and 11 is a ladle into which the molten metal is placed. Reference numeral 12 denotes a cooling shower pipe, which sprays cooling water W to protect the mold and improve the quality of the outer surface by unidirectional solidification from the outer surface.

A disadvantage of the above device is that the tire section 2 not only supports a high load but also has a wide and thick wall to provide high speed rotation, so the cooling rate of the product inside the tire section 2 is slower than that of other parts. As a result, it is said that casting defects such as hot cracking become concentrated in this area.

The purpose of this invention is to prevent defects that are concentrated in the tire part of this centrifugal casting mold.By providing holes or slits in the tire part and allowing cooling water to pass through or infiltrate the tire part. This is to prevent delays in solidification of internal products.

When providing a hole in the tire part, a through hole in the axial direction of the mold 1 is provided at the connection part between the mold 1 and the tire part 2,
Uniform solidification is achieved by flowing water from cooling piping into these holes.

Specific examples of this are shown in FIGS. 3 to 6. In the figure, the same reference numerals as in FIG. 1 indicate the same parts as in FIG. 1. In FIG. 3, 14 is a hole provided at the connection between the tire part 2 and the mold 1, and 13 is a cross section of the cooling pipe.
A plurality of holes are provided in the circumferential direction. FIG. 4 shows a case where the holes are inclined by δ in the circumferential direction in order to facilitate the infiltration of water into the holes. Similarly, FIG. 5 shows a case where a guide hole 15 is installed at the entrance to facilitate water intrusion, and FIG. 6 is a front view seen from the guide hole 15 side.

On the other hand, when providing slits in the tire part, as shown in Fig. 7, multiple slits are provided in the circumferential direction of the tire part at a depth close to the level of the mold. shower pipe 1
Cooling water from No. 2 is allowed to enter to promote cooling of the tire portion. The slit width a1 and the rib width a2 are determined as appropriate depending on the material and dimensions, but in order to prevent the ribs from collapsing, it is also possible to install a spacer between the ribs to prevent cooling water from entering.

Example Mold outer diameter 1420mmφ Mold wall thickness 50mm Sand mold thickness 35mm Tire width 500mm Tire height 215mm A centrifugal casting mold has a hole diameter of 50 at the connection part with the tire.
When holes with mmφ and circumferential pitch of 150 mm were installed and cooled, the 5-minute solidification delay was resolved.
The frequency of casting defects has decreased significantly.

In addition, when creating slits in a mold with the above dimensions and materials, due to strength, ease of infiltration of cooling water, etc.
Slit width a1 rib width a2 = about 10 to 30 mm was appropriate.
