Is a liquid crystal display panel comprising upper glass 1-a, lower glass 1-b, liquid crystal, polarizing plate 1-d, etc., 2 is a reflection plate, 4 is a zebra type connector (hereinafter referred to as a connector), 5 is a circuit board, 6
Is a panel frame, and 7 is a circuit holding plate, each of which has a well-known function. The structure other than the structure related to the illumination is common to the conventional structure, and is omitted in FIG. Reference numeral 3 denotes an illumination plate in which a light emitting unit 3-b is provided on a substrate material 3-a made of transparent glass. The light-emitting portion 3-b has a structure in which an electroluminescence (hereinafter, referred to as EL) light-emitting layer is basically bound with a transparent electrode. In order to improve moisture resistance, the transparent electrode is formed of a moisture-proof film made of a synthetic resin that does not easily pass moisture. And the EL light emitting layer. First, a first moisture-proof film is formed on the surface of the substrate material 3-a on the liquid crystal panel 1 side, and a first transparent electrode 3-c is formed thereon.
, An EL light emitting layer is formed thereon, a second transparent electrode 3-d is formed thereon, and finally a second moisture-proof film is formed. Note that the moisture-proof film is omitted in the figure. As shown in FIG. 1, the transparent electrode is formed so as to extend to the outer peripheral portion of the substrate material 3-a, and is electrically connected to the circuit board 5 via the connector 4. As shown in FIG. 1, the connector 4 is disposed so as to protrude from the outer shape of the liquid crystal panel 1 in a plane, and
As shown in the figure, the cross section has a contact portion 4-b with the liquid crystal panel 1 and a contact portion 4-a with the illumination plate 3. The positioning of the illumination plate 3 in cross section is such that the lower surface of the illumination plate 3 is received by the illumination plate receiving portion 6-c of the panel frame 6, and the upper surface of the illumination plate 3 is pressed by the illumination plate holding portion 6-b of the panel frame 6. By doing that. The illuminating plate pressing collar 6-b is placed as close as possible to the contact portion between the illuminating plate 3 and the connector 4 to ensure conduction between the two. The liquid crystal display panel 1 is disposed on the lower surface of the illumination plate 3 and is fixed in position by the cross section 6-a of the panel frame 6 in position.

As shown in FIG. 1, according to the present invention, the light-emitting portion can be brought to a position just before the parting range, and a brighter display can be achieved. In addition, since the light emitting section can be freely arranged even inside the parting line, the EL light emitting section is a display section having some meaning such as a character, a character string, a symbol, a mark, and the like. It can be a high value product.
