Abstract

A surgical instrument comprising a long rod 1 with a utensil 2 at one end and a handle 3 at the other. The rod 1 is hollow and carries a sliding tubular sleeve 4 in which in turn slides a thread 5 of surgical type. The sleeve 4 acts as a guide for the thread 5 and enables it to be fed easily to the utensil 2 in such a way that the surgeon has a supply of it at the point of intervention on the patient. The utensil may be hook-shaped, may be a jaw-dissector or may be some other type of utensil. <IMAGE>
