Abstract

Disposable single-use hypodermic syringe (1), has within its barrel (2) a latch member (7) which locks the syringe plunger (14) in its fully advanced position. Pivoted upon the needle hub (3) is a needle (4) enclosing sheath (8) which is spring-loaded towards the needle (4), and which contains a structure which passes and encloses the needle and locks in place. The user holds the sheath (8) in retracted position by means of a finger grip (8a). Pref the plunger rod (12) has a mushroomm head (11) detachable from the socket (13) in the plunger (14).
