Abstract

mplant used in the arthrodesis of the intervertebral margin, by anterior or posterior approach, consisting of two parts that are assembled during implantation in the patient. In anterior approaches, the invention utilises a conical screw and a conical bifurcated cage, whereas in posterior approaches it utilises a cylindrical screw and two simple rectangular cages. The described implant achieves the effect of arthrodesis without an additional fixation with transpedicular screws as it is required in present techniques that utilise only screwing or only sliding cages. The described implant combine these two types and has the characteristic that it diminishes the disadvantages of the separate use of each, namely the migration or the subsidence. It also eliminates the need to use additional fixation means. In addition, its simple implanting procedure securely provides speed and the avoidance of errors or other dangers in a much greater extend than with other techniques, whereas the expected results are excellent
