It consists of a sheath with a balloon at its tip that will ensure safe passage from the entry point into the central veins through the right atrium and the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle. This sheath will be used to insert a ventricular pacemaker lead from the puncture site to the right ventricle avoiding interaction with the tricuspid valve or its subvalvular mechanism. This device may thus minimize the risk of iatrogenic tricuspid valve dysfunction. It will also be able to measure hemodynamic pressures from the right atrium that may indicate tricuspid dysfunction during implantation of the lead.
