972,731. Artery clamps. M. GERENDAS. May 31, 1962 [May 31, 1961], No. 21082/62. Heading A5R. An artery clamp made of a protein base plastic material absorbable in the body, e.g. fibrin, comprises two members 1, 2, one having spaced arrow-shaped projections 3 which pass through spaced apertures 6 in the other member to close the clamp about an artery or vein 5. The clamp may comprise a single member with an arrowshaped projection at one end which is passed through an aperture at the other end when the member is folded about an artery or vein.
