Abstract

916,235. Dish washing-machines. BURCO Ltd. Nov. 9, 1961 [Nov. 11, 1960], No. 38840/60. Class 138 (1). A dish washing-machine comprises a sprinkler 4 at the top of the container 1, through which water can spray on to dishes whilst a water circulating means, e.g. an impeller 8, is operating or inoperative as required, a water tank (not shown) containing a heater to which tank water is admitted from the main and from which tank a pipe 5 leads to the sprinkler, and a bleed pipe 16 from the water pipe 5 near the sprinkler 4, to prevent dripping from the sprinkler. Dishes may first be rinsed by the sprinkler 4, the waste passing through filter 17 and sump 11, and then being pumped to waste. The door 2 of the washing chamber has a detergent dispenser 15 in it, such that detergent is washed out by water from the impeller 8, but not by water from the sprinkler 4. A wire mesh box filter 18 is clipped to the basket 3, and is removable for cleaning.
