Abstract

899,055. Packages. NOURY, J. G. P. April 5, 1960 [April 6, 1959], No. 12100/60. Class 94(1). A cartridge, for use in coffee-making apparatus has upper and lower per forated faces and is divi ded, by a thin perforated partition parallel to the upper and lower faces, into two internal chambers one of which contains the ground or soluble coffee 5 and the other of which is empty to permit swelling of the ground coffee and consequent bulging of the internal partition. As shown, the body 1a of the cartridge may be of tin or other sheet material e.g. plastic. The edges 4a of body 1a enclose the edges of partition 11 which form a collar constituting a distance piece to maintain the spacing between partition 11 and cover 3a. The cartridge, which is enclosed in a wrapper 14 may be cylindrical, polygonal or square.
