Class 86 Apparatus for adding a fluid reagent to a gaseous or liquid stream, e.g., a fungicide, insecticide or fertilizer to water in a hose, comprises means for holding a pressurized container 17 in position to deliver reagent to a passage 12 leading to the hose delivery nozzle 5, the nozzle orifice being controlled by a valve 9 and lever 11. The container 17 is pressurized by a gas, e.g. carbon dioxide, and is pushed into a housing 13 to be held by the members 14, 15, 16, the transfer tube 20 penetrating a rubber closure 19, and connecting the inside of the container with the passage 12. The quantity of reagent released to the main stream is controlled by a needle valve 21. In a modification, the valve 21 is dispensed with, and the closure 19 is replaced by a valve on the container which is depressed, to open the valve, by a rod coaxial with the passage 12 and pressed by a spring into contact with a conical cam on the rod carrying the valve 9. Movements of the valve 9 thus produce corresponding movements of the container valve. The amount of reagent in the mixture may be gauged by adding a dye to the reagent in the container.
