Abstract

A fungicidal composition particularly for treating fungus diseases of man and animals comprises griseofulvin and a high-boiling fluid which is mild, inoffensive, non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-irritant to the skin and preferably having a boiling-point above 150 DEG C. The term "fluid" includes liquids, e.g. polyalkyleneglycol 2 : 2-dimethylpropane-1 : 3-diol and dimethylsulphoxide and semi-solid materials, for example, greases, pastes and waxes such as lanoline, castor oil and arachias oil. Fatty ingredients such as cetostearyl alcohol or stearic acid and emulsifying agents may also be incorporated. The composition may be in the form, for example of creams, jellies, ointments, lotions, paints and collodion.
